Fox has shared a first look at its new comedy series Going Dutch, which will premiere on the network in January 2025.

Going Dutch centers on arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army “Colonel Patrick Quinn” (Denis Leary), who, after an epically unfiltered rant, is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world.

After serving with distinction in every warzone over the last three decades, he now finds himself in charge of a base with no guns, no weapons, and no tactical purpose. Instead, it has a Michelin Star-level commissary, top-notch bowling alley, lavender-infused laundry, and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Army.

ABC has released the trailer for Ryan Murphy’s new nautical medical drama “Doctor Odyssey” — starring Joshua Jackson — which premieres Sept. 26 and will be available on Hulu the following day.

According to the official logline, “Doctor Odyssey” Jackson plays Max, the “new on-board doctor for a luxury cruise ship where the staff works hard and plays harder. It’s all-hands-on-deck as Max and his small but mighty medical team navigate unique medical crises and each other, miles from shore.”

Other cast members include Sean Teale, Don Johnson and Phillipa Soo.

Murphy serves as writer and executive producer with director Paris Barclay, Jackson, Johnson, Eric Paquette, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson and Nissa Diederich. “Doctor Odyssey” is produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television.

Variety has a first look at the duo in action from tonight’s episode, as Ken Jeong guest stars as Roman Park, “a reputable (and unhinged) dog trainer.” In the story, Emily (played by Vella Lovell) hires Park to help with the kennel dogs at the precinct, but he disrupts the office dynamics and competes with McHale’s character, Frank, for the role of “Alpha.”

The broadcast network has handed out a third season renewal to the comedy series starring Joel McHale, with the pickup arriving a month before its sophomore run debuts.

“Animal Control” has been renewed for Season 3 at Fox.

The news comes before the Season 2 premiere of the single-camera comedy. The second season is scheduled to premiere on March 6.

As the name suggests, the series centers on a group of animal control workers. The cast is led by Joel McHale, who stars alongside Michael Rowland, Vella Lovell, Ravi Patel, Grace Palmer, and Gerry Dee. Season 2 guest stars include Ken Jeong, Sarah Chalke, and Krystal Smith in the recurring role of Bettany.

“Animal Control” hails from writers and executive producers Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling. All three executive produce along with Jake Fuller of Jax Media as well as Tad Quill and McHale, with Quill serving as showrunner. Fox Entertainment Studios produces the series. The comedy, which scored a record streaming debut for Fox, has lined up international sales in key English-language territories, including UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, bringing revenue for the company. Channel 4 in the U.K. has acquired the television rights for “Animal Control,” the Joel McHale-led comedy that debuted on Fox in February. The series will air on E4, a linear channel operated by Channel 4 that targets the adults 18-34 demographic.

This marks the first scripted licensing deal between Channel 4 and Fox Entertainment Global (Feg). “Animal Control” has also been exported to Foxtel’s Fox8 channel and its streaming service Binge in Australia, CBC and streamer CBC Gem in Canada, and Tvnz in New Zealand.

Joel McHale has committed to starring in and executive producing Fox’s single-camera comedy Animal Control, set, as the title suggests, in the world of animal control workers. The Emmy Award nominee will play a character named Frank in Fox’s first wholly-owned live-action comedy.

Fox Entertainment has launched Los Angeles-based Fox Entertainment Global, tapping Fernando Szew as its new CEO.

Fox Entertainment Global will act as a centralized content sales division, Fox Entertainment CEO Charlie Collier revealed today. It will oversee the international distribution of Fox Entertainment content as well as managing content sales on behalf of MarVista Entertainment and looking after global content partnerships.

The company will make its debut at Cannes television market Mipcom next month, where it will unveil its slate of content to buyers. Among the shows on offer will be animated series “Krapopolis” (pictured above), created by Dan Harmon, and Jon Hamm’s “Grimsburg” (both produced by Fox Entertainment’s Bento Box Entertainment) and live-action comedy “Animal Control.”

They Came At Night is inspired by true events and it gives a behind-the-scenes look at the group of underdogs who went on to create the critically acclaimed Spanish version of the 1930 horror classic, Dracula. While Bela Lugosi filmed Dracula during the day on the Universal lot, at the end of each day another cast and crew arrived to make the same exact movie… only in Spanish. Using the same sets, costumes, and a translated version of the script, the cast and crew of the Spanish Dracula filmed from dusk to dawn, and, against all odds, the critical consensus is that the Spanish version turned out to be the better film.

Eugenio Derbez will explore a lesser-known aspect of Hollywood history with his latest TV project.

The actor and producer (Apple TV+’s Acapulco, How to Be a Latin Lover) will star in and executive produce a comedy with the working title They Came at Night, which is in development at TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform Vix+. The project is a workplace show about the cast and crew who made a Spanish-language version of Dracula in 1930 — filming at night and using the same sets and costumes as Tod Browning’s English-language version.

“I have not worked in scripted Spanish language TV comedy for well over ten years and was looking for something really special to come back,” Derbez said in a statement. “This story really jumped out at me because it tells the story of Latinos always having to accomplish more with less resources and harder conditions.

Over the course of three months, Cindy Snow went from a hot prospect to a shoo-in for series pickup that was announced at Fox’s upfront presentation to a show returned to its producers to shop elsewhere.

As Deadline reported in July, Fox opted not to move forward with the single-camera meteorologist comedy from creator Steve Yockey and Warner Bros. Television after the clock ran out for the network to make a deal in time to have the show ready for a January launch. Fox instead made the decision to go with another single-camera comedy, the Fox-owned Animal Control, from Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Dan Sterling, which got a straight-to-series order for midseason.

As the title suggests, the show is a single-camera workplace comedy about a group of animal control workers. It hails from writers and executive producers Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg, and Dan Sterling.
