- Bernard Giraudeau was born on June 18, 1947 in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France. He was an actor and director, known for L'autre (1991), Ridicule (1996) and That Day (2003). He was married to Anny Duperey. He died on July 17, 2010 in Paris, France.

- In 1963 Bernard enlisted in the French navy as a trainee engineer, graduating first in his class one year later. During his naval service, Giraudeau served on helicopter carrier Jeanne d'Arc from 1964-1965, and again from 1965-1966. Subsequently, Giraudeau served on the frigate Duquesne and on the conventional aircraft carrier Clemenceau before leaving the navy to begin his career as an actor.
- Bernard met actress Anny Duperey while acting in the same play. Giraudeau and Duperey married and had two children: son Gaël and daughter Sara.
