Evgeniy Ginzburg was born on 28 February 1945 in Chelyabinsk, Chelyabinskaya obast, RSFSR, USSR [now Russia]. He was a director and writer, known for Prostodushnyy (1994), The Dead Ships Island (1987) and Retsept yeyo molodosti (1983). He died on 15 January 2012 in Moscow, Russia.
