Richard Geiwitz is known for working with cult horror director Don Dohler on three projects, including: "The Alien Factor" 1978, "Fiend" 1980 and "Nightbeast" 1982. He acted in all three and was cinematographer on "Fiend" and "Nightbeast." Famed producer J.J. Abrams contributed music to "Nightbeast."
He has completed 30 features, shorts, pilots and treatments for which he has earned over 380 contest laurels. His comedy crime script, "Through a Glass Ceiling, Darkly" was a Second Rounder at the 2023 Austin Film Festival and the grounded Sci-fi script "Darwin Rising" landed in the Top 20% at the 2020 Nicholl Fellowship.
His Sci-fi script "The Last Prison" was a Wildsound contest winner in 2017 and Table Read. This early version is posted on You Tube. "The Last Prison" is in the Top 9% on Coverfly. Fourteen others are in the Top 25%.
Richard also wrote and directed 2 zero budget features on You Tube, "Glass Houses" 2003 and "The Coming" 2008.
He is a graduate of Towson University, twice, earning degrees in Mass Communication and Asian Studies. He is a former newspaper, radio and TV reporter.
