In the wake of the its abrupt cancellation, it seemed "Eureka" would be forced to bow out with a cliffhanger -- until Syfy granted showrunner Jaime Paglia's request for one more episode.
With one caveat: The "Eureka" crew had one week -- instead of the usual two months -- to write it. "We broke the story in two days, I wrote it in three days over the weekend, and then we had three days to prep it," Paglia revealed to Zap2it.
At the time, he said, "I told everybody, 'Let's try to look at the positive side of this: We were given a chance by the network and studio to wrap this up on our terms. So let's go into this last episode as positively as we can and...

"Eureka" showrunner Jaime Paglia calls his series finale, "Just Another Day," a "love letter to fans." So did you feel the love?
We sure did -- especially if you are measuring by tears and goosebumps.
Maybe the best line of the evening came from amnesiac Holly (Felicia Day), who perfectly captured what Sheriff Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) means to the little town of Eureka:
"Oh! I remember now. You guys are smart, but the sheriff is the strong force -- he holds it all together."
In his last heroic act of the series, Carter dove through a wormhole to save the town. As he traveled through that space-time anomaly, we saw snippets of important characters (Stark, argh!) and pivotal scenes -- including season one's alternate timeline in which Allison was his wife and pregnant with their child.
After he saved Eureka for the gazillionth time, that happy reality finally...

We’ve all been told not to judge something by it’s cover. However, when you see a title like Metal Shifters, Camel Spiders, or Ice Quake, you should probably have an inkling that you’re about to watch a B movie. For the B-lovers out there, these three titles pack some ridiculous moments that are sure to entertain.
Metal Shifters:
Just when you thought there weren’t enough movies about Idaho, Paul Ziller brings B-movie lovers a little gem called Metal Shifters. Having enjoyed an array of farfetched Syfy movies, I can usually take any plot line with a grain of salt. However, with this film, I found myself pondering some simple, moral questions. My biggest quandary stems from the premise of the movie: if a strange, metal object plummeted from the sky, would your first thought be “I wonder how much I could sell that for?” Probably not.

Lois (Erica Durance) is running around doing a million things before the big day, working on a story and wedding planning and she believes there's a conspiracy behind her new story. "Go jump in the river" she tells Clark (Tom Welling.) Well it's her story and he's standing on the river she's got mapped out on the floor of her office. Their catering company has gone under and has been bought out like other businesses in the area, by Marionette Ventures, really the name in itself provides a big clue as to who is behind this! All the owners have left town. Clark says he told her father about the wedding but he hasn't told his and they head for the Fortress. The Head of the House of El approves all unions and he stresses his "desire to start a lifebond with this woman." Jor-El (Terence Stamp) talks about their lives being joined,...

Blogomatic3000 recently had a chance to sat down with Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne, the stars of SyFy’s hit show Sanctuary, to discuss the upcoming season and perhaps to plot the kidnapping of certain Hollywood elite. We’re not saying anything if Mr. Dunne doesn’t! Here’s the interview!
Aaron Mk: Sanctuary is coming to its fourth season – can you tell our fans a little bit about the season premiere, and what they can look forward to this season?
Amanda Tapping: Well the season premiere, again, takes place in Victorian era England. It’s almost a direct cut from how we ended Season 3. So we actually have, the first two episodes of the season are the conclusion to our season finale last year. And we had initially discussed doing them, sort of flashing back and forth between the two storylines, one in Victorian era England and one,...

Colin Ferguson, who plays Sheriff Jack Carter on sci-fi TV show Eureka, will direct at least one future Syfy Channel original movie, the actor announced during a panel Sunday at Dragon*Con 2011.
In the past, fans have often ridiculed Syfy's made-for-tv movies, which feature hokey stories and awful dialog -- especially when compared to the network's original TV shows like Eureka.
Like the good sport he is, Ferguson also poked fun at past Syfy original movies along with the other fellow cast members on the panel, which included Wil Wheaton (Dr. Isaac Parrish), Jordan Hinson (Zoe Carter), and Chris Gauthier (Vincent) as well as the show's science consultant Kevin Robert Grazier.
Ferguson and Wheaton recited a list of story ideas for possible movies that Syfy executives rejected, like The Mexercist, Diary of Anne Frankenstein, and Manchilla (a movie about a creature that's part-man, part-chinchilla) [...]...

"Prophecy"
Join us this week for a very special Smallville, when Clark has his Kryptonian powers stripped and given to a human. Wait…what? Come on, Smallville writers, we saw this happen twice already. Once with the kid who was played by Jimmy Olsen’s twin, and once with Lana. What’s that, this time it will be different because you have a fresh take on this particular scenario? This time it’s Lois that gains his powers? Oh, well, that is new and exciting! Tell us your story.
When it comes time to investigate the last retailer to hold out on selling out, Clark tells Lois to use her super-hearing. She tries at first to concentrate on the storefront, but is distracted by multiple cries for help. This is where Lois truly has her eyes opened to what it is to be Clark Kent. She looks at him, and...

You may not have to wait for for the 2-hour finale to get a glimpse of the Superman suit that Clark will eventually throw on and fly away. Smallville’s pre-finale episode, Prophecy, shows off the suit for fans when Clark visits the Fortress to get Jor-El’s blessing on the marriage to Lois. The suit is one of the ones used in Superman Returns and we expect to see Welling wearing it in the finale at some point. We got a glimpse of the suit in the season 10 premiere this past fall, but it has been hidden most of the season until now.

While this weekend brings us the world premiere of the cinematic epic Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, Syfy is already putting out promotional clips for their next offering for February, Iron Invader, which sees Earth invaded by a alien bacteria that not only fatally infects people, it also brings a giant ironworks statue to life to go on a rampage.
Alien bacteria arrives on a meteorite and infects metal, animating a giant iron statue that goes on a killing rampage in a small town. It's up to Kavan Smith ("Stargate: Atlantis", "The 4400"), Chris Gauthier ("Eureka", "Smallville"), Nicole DeBoer ("Haven", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), Paul McGillion ("Stargate: Atlantis", "Sanctuary") and Donnelly Rhodes ("Battlestar Galactica", "Charles in Charge") to save the world.
If there's one thing that cast proves, it's that if you've ever starred in a Syfy original series, then you pretty much look to have a job for life appearing in Syfy original movies.

Hunky Ben Cohen prepares for an interview.
Here at Twitterwatch, we're huge sports fans. We can't wait for football season so we can score a basket or something. O.K., so maybe it's the gay/gay friendly athletes that catch our attention. In this case, they didn't even have to take off their shirts, not that we'd mind. They just had to be great people. It's a shame there are no Americans in the bunch, but there's always tomorrow.
We start with the hunky Ben Cohen, who is the background on my iPhone. Here he is doing good by recording an interview in support of Manchester hosting the next Bingham Cup, the gay rugby championship. Isn't he adorable?
Speaking of the Bingham Cup, Gareth Thomas asked on Twitter who had won this year. I, and half the Internet told him it was New York City’s Gotham Knights, and he offered his heartfelt congratulations.

Maybe you should tip the hair person.
Here at TwitterWatch, we wear a permanent scowl because we're chained to the desk and haven't seen sunlight in years. We tend to live vicariously through the tweets of the celebrities we follow to bring you the best of Twitter. And this week, that took us on an emotional roller coaster ride.
Tom Lenk has set our own Flying Monkey an impossible task. Monkey usually only handles gay (or gayish) pop culture questions in his weekly column. Unfortunately, our recent solicitation tweet of "Have a question for the Monkey?" was possibly a bit too open-ended, prompting this from Lenk:
Among those making me feel happy is our little Fub, Scott Evans. When he's happy, he just radiates joy, and it's really contagious. I'm happy he's happy - and coming to a screen somewhere, I would guess, which also makes me happy.

As most of you know by now, we're one of the very, very few sites of our kind that refuses to work with studio publicists. In the last couple of years, that's become even more important to us, as other popular movie blogs have sprung up to become essentially another arm of studio public relations efforts. Junket interviews, set visits, and trailer and movie poster exclusives -- that's just movie promotion. Granted, all exposure is a form of promotion, but at least with us, you can trust that it's not being influenced by access or publicists threatening to deny access. We have no access, and therefore, no one can hold it over our heads.
One of the perks, however, of that access is interviews with celebrities. Granted, most of those are junket interviews, which generally elicit nothing at all of import. They're just a series of impersonal sound bites offered...

Last month Rogue Events organized an intimate event for less than 100 Supernatural fans to sit down and chat with Supernatural actors: Mitch Pileggi, Mark Pellegrino, Chris Gauthier and Rob Benedict in Birmingham,UK. BuddyTV was lucky enough to have Lynda Lees, our special Guest Columnist, sit down and ask some questions.
The evening began light hearted and humorous with a few brief hello's and a photo session. Then they all took the stage again for an hour long stage talk, opening up the floor to questions from the audience, and without prompts, they gave insights into their lives and careers to date!

We've been a bit neglectful so far this fall season with our television coverage, particularly when it comes to analyses of episodes week to week. So we're going to do our darnedest to correct that oversight, starting right here, right now, with a look back at last week.
After careful consideration, we began to realize that detailed reviews of every episode of every major series, every week, was just too unwieldy—we haven't the manpower, and we doubt you have the patience to sift through long deliberations about the lives of your favorite characters on your favorite shows. We'll still do more detailed reviews every once in a while, but expect analyses of partial seasons more often than individual episodes.
So what's the alternative? Mini recaps/reviews. Think of them as Bk Burger Shots for your pop culture soul.
Ok, that's a wee bit disgusting. Think of them as "reviews you can use,...

We're going to play a bit on Smallville because tonight marks the return of the Toyman. Actor Chris Gauthier is back to portray this villain, and Oliver (Justin Hartley) better watch his back. The grudge held by Winslow Schott still hasn't dissipated, which means trouble for Queen and possibly even the whole of Metropolis.
On tonight's episode titled "Echo," we see Tess (Cassidy Freeman) persuading Oliver to attend a gala held for Queen Industries. He doesn't like the idea, but she tells him that they need to put the Board at ease regarding his status.

Grabbing my late-night viewing snack, the “thwrick” of the TV snaps on and I “thump” back onto the couch. The hesitant “tick…tick” of the clock is heard overhead as time seems to suddenly stop. The sandpaper, “thrush” of my jittery fingers drag the volume up on the TV; “nick, nick” the volume rises. All of these exonerated, over-the-top emotions are courtesy of the brilliant and nail-biting CBS television show Harper’S Island.
The series, being dealt the DVD edition treatment this week from CBS DVD, is a series I originally looked over this past spring season. The show, created by Ari Schlossberg, who penned the 2005 horror/thriller Hide And Seek, and from Executive Producer Jon Turteltaub, who helmed the other CBS hit Jericho, take us on a wild gut-wrenching thriller ride. Excellently these two masterminds have brought us a series that is unique and original,...
