James Gallanders

James Gallanders was born at Scarborough General Hospital on February
9th, 1970 in Toronto, Ontario. Raised in Oshawa, James discovered
acting at a young age as a means to overcome his stutter. Having found
his voice, James became heavily involved in theatre in his community
and at school.
After graduating from York University in 1993 with a BFA in their Acting Program, James found success right away, landing guest spots on television shows such as Due South, La Femme Nikita, and Psi Factor, as well as film roles in Reluctant Angel and Bride of Chucky.
Several of his films had been invited to festivals around the world, including the Atom Egoyan exec-produced Babyface, which made its world premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival in 1997, and both The Third Miracle, in which he starred opposite Ed Harris, and Shake Hands with the Devil, which was shot in Rwanda, had their world premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival.
In 2008, James married actress Stacie Mistysyn, best known for her portrayal of Caitlyn Ryan on the DeGrassi series. They have two children, a son, Grayson Gallanders, and a daughter, River Gallanders.
