- After training Cammie in the Theater for roughly a year, Fitzpatrick set-up Cameron Diaz with his agent, which helped launch her professional acting career.
- His Star Trek: Enterprise (2001) character, Commander Williams, was named after William Shatner.
- In 1987, Jimmy became close friends with feature director Michael Bay (Armageddon, Bad Boys 1 & 2, The Rock). They met while Michael was still attending film school in college and holding auditions, when Michael asked Jimmy to Star in Senior Thesis Project. In fact, Jimmy has starred in over 18 different Films, National Commercials, Music Videos, and a short, titled 'Evicted', for Michael. They're still close friends to this day.
- He and Sam Shepard became friends in the late 80s, during an evening of Tequila and a deep discussion about the philosophy of writing two- and three- act semi-autobiographical plays for the stage. Several years later, James co-starred in one of Sam's most controversial Pulitzer Prize-winning plays, entitled, "Curse of The Starving Class".
- Fitzpatrick was reportedly the first Tarzan at Busch Gardens theme park in Tampa, Florida.
- Writer/director David Klass was his best-man at his wedding to Jodi Knotts, aboard a 33 ft. yacht in the San Francisco bay, on July 4, 1990. The couple have two sons, J.J. Fitzpatrick and Jadon Cal.

- In 1993, while filming the pilot episode of "Bullet Proof" (a spin-off of Sweating Bullets), in Mauritius, James met 17 year old Charlize Theron and her mother, Gerda, during the South African 'Teenaged-Miss-South-Africa' competition. He spotted Theron among the finalists and invited her and her mother to chat during rehearsals. He told Gerda, "You've got to get her to the States, because she's going to be a big Star!" Months later, Charlize showed-up and James gave her several agency contacts.
- In 1986, he and his best friend, director/producer Corbin Timbrook, met at an audition for a feature film titled 'Money Can't Buy Me Love,' vying for the role of the same character. He and Corbin have since worked together over 20 times in feature films, TV series episodes, and theatrical plays for the stage in Los Angeles.
- While attending Illinois State University, James frequented the City of Chicago where he met and became friends with several influential individuals in the 1970's, such as, Nobel Prize Winner Linus Pauling, Chicago City Mayor Richard Daley Jr, Hugh Hefner founder of the Playboy Club and Magazine, Sherry Lansing who was the first woman to head a Hollywood Movie Studio, Shelley Long of "Cheers" fame...and college classmates Gary Sinise, Laurie Metcalf, John Malkovich, Gary Cole, Terry Kinney and Tom Irwin.

- (January 2010-2016) Producing & Directing two high-concept comedy children's films in the Sarasota Florida area. The first tilted, "Scouts Honor,' with a dozen NFL Football Players. The second, 'Scouts Honor, Homeland Security.'.

- Movie Star Burt Reynolds introduced actor Jim Fitzpatrick to Super Agent Nina Blanchard. Fitzpatrick was one of Nina Blanchard/Ford's Top Commercial Actors in the 1980's - 1990's, making hundreds of National Commercials.
- While Mr Fitzpatrick was playing Professional Football for Tampa Bay, the Film "Cocoon," began shooting. Mr Fitzpatrick auditioned for the role that Tyrone Power, Jr. eventually played. James was given another preferred role portraying a Dock Worker and friend of the group of Aliens played by (Brian Dennehy, Tahnee Welch, Tyrone Power, Jr., & Mike Nomad). James became fairly close friends with Don Ameche, Gwen Verdon, as well as the Zanuck's (Richard & Lilly).
- James is preparing to break ground by developing his 'Five Star Studios Sound Stages' in Pinellas County Florida with his wife (Jodi Knotts) and several of his closest friends, Corbin Timbrook, James D. Brubaker & Sam Nicholson.
- James was a Top Ford Model & Commercial Actor in New York City & Los Angeles for more than 22 Years, during the 1980's to the early 2000's. Gracing the pages of nearly every Periodical Magazine at News-Stands and Bookstores. James also was the lead actor and spokesman in more than 180 National Commercials over the last 35 years.
- While James was working on Star Trek: Enterprise (2001-2005) as Commander Williams at the Paramount Pictures Studios lot in Los Angeles, he had the opportunity of meeting and becoming friends with several of his favorite Star Trek actors who would visit the set, such as William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy & his wife Susan, Nichelle Nichols, James Doohan and George Takei. However the most exciting meet and greet happened when James first arrived in Hollywood in the mid-80's, whence he met Gene Roddenberry and his actress wife Majel Barrett (Nurse Christine Chapel), while working on another TV Series at Paramount Pictures lot.
- Another of Fitzpatrick's students, Aubrey Shea, landed the starring role in Jem and the Holograms (2015).
- Fitzpatrick was a frequent tennis partner of both Fraser Heston, son of Charlton Heston in the 1980s and 1990s at the Heston family home on Mulholland Drive, and Nels Van Patten, in Studio City, at his father (Dick Van Patten}'s home.
