After graduating from an Acting and Social Animation class (1976), she
became a professional stage actress with Grupo 4, at Teatro Aberto,
Lisbon, and perfected her natural capabilities alongside tried actors
as Lia Gama, Rui Mendes, and Irene Cruz. Her first plays were based on
scripts by controversial poet Ary dos Santos: Os Macacões (1977), and O
Caso da Mãozinha Misteriosa (1978). Other important plays followed: O
Chá dos Generais, by Boris Vian (1979), Crónica Atribulada do
Esperançoso Fagundes, by Luis Stau Monteiro (1979), Corpo Delito na
Sala de Espelhos, by Luis Cardoso Pires (1980), and Andorra, by Max
Fritsch (1980). Her wild spirit found another blaring way of expression
with rock music, starting with a frenetic, sensual "Baby Suicida"
(1980), followed by several popular appearances, mostly in tours around
the country. When she represented Portugal in the 2nd OTI
(International Television Organization) Songs Championship, she got a
2nd place - the best Portugal would get up to the end of the 20th
century. Meanwhile, she got a career as film actress, mostly in
supporting roles in TV films and series.
