Helen has a hybrid career between indie production and international film festivals.
A genie-nominated producer, Helen has produced features, shorts and television since the mid-90's. She served as U.S. co-producer on Mark Cousins critically acclaimed 15 hour documentary The Story of Film: An Odyssey, about the evolution of creativity in international cinema. Helen developed John Berger's novel To the Wedding to be directed by award-winning Italian director Andrea Pallaoro.
A life long film fan, Helen consulted for film festivals in various capacities for over two decades. She produced the TIFF's Talent Lab for five years and was Creative Director of Vancouver IFF's Film & TV Forum for three years. As Artistic Director of the Palm Springs International Film Festival, Helen was instrumental in building the festival's audience share into the third highest attendance in the U.S.
Helen is the Executive & Artistic Director of the Blue Mountain Film Festival.
