- Suffered a mild stroke on January 15, 2010 while snowmobiling in Durango, Colorado, where he was treated and then flown to a Denver hospital and released on January 17, 2010.
- An avid fan of University of Tennessee sports, Daniels enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and other outdoor activities.
- Suffered a major arm injury on January 30, 1980 while digging fence post holes on his farm near Mount Juliet. The injury required surgery and sidelined him for four months.
- Charlie Daniels and his wife Hazel had one child together: son, Charles Edward Daniels Jr.
- He was awarded a star on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee on November 8, 2009.
