Fans of Insecure know more about Molly’s parents and siblings than the families of any other character on the popular HBO sitcom. It’s a familiarity that will matter as Season 5 progresses, says L. Scott Caldwell, who has played Molly’s mom CeeCee for four seasons.
For instance, in Sunday’s Episode 2, Molly (Yvonne Orji) scolded her parents for not meeting with an estate planner. By the installment’s end, however, Molly called her mother and apologized for being so stern.

Two of the 118’s own are in some serious trouble in TV Insider’s exclusive clip of the November 1 episode, “Brawl in Cell Block 9-1-1.” In this 9-1-1 episode, the Fox first responder drama sees Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) and the 118 responding to a fire at the prison. As should be no surprise, they then find themselves trapped in a deadly riot. In the clip, Hen (Aisha Hinds) gives Dr. Cochran (Gregg Daniel) a rundown of an inmate’s injuries. He’s been stabbed in his lower abdomen and has lost a lot of blood. He was convulsing, but that’s slowed. However, there’s a big problem: He’s a guard, not an inmate as they thought. And he was found in the machine room next to who they thought was another prisoner. “But if this one’s a guard,” Bobby realizes, then “the other one probably is,...

I had never heard of this comedy-thriller, and the good news is that it’s a pleasant surprise, thoroughly enjoyable. The toughest kind of filmmaking must be making comedy seem effortless, and that’s what Eric Blakeney does in this quirky, near-screwball take on the done-to-death drug deal undercover thriller. Liam Neeson is sensational, and producer Sandra Bullock is at her most charming. Even the flatulence jokes are funny.

True Blood concluded its seven-season run with a vampire-human wedding and an end to the love story of Bill and Sookie in the series finale, "Thank You."
Picking up where we left off, Bill (Stephen Moyer) meets Sookie (Anna Paquin) at her house and tried to explain to her why he has chosen to die. “This disease, Sookie, has made me feel more human that I have before,” Bill tells her. He belongs in the cemetery with his family – death, after all, is a part of life. He wants to ensure that Sookie lives a whole life – children included. When she asks why he can’t just break up with her. If she’s not strong enough to leave him, then he could leave her, but he says he’s not strong enough. Then Bill asks Sookie for a huge favor: to use her light on him. Kill him, and...

Good grief, are they just going to kill everyone?! With the chief goal of the final season of True Blood clearly being to leave as few characters alive to see the cast party as possible (fewer drink tickets!), this week’s episode tidily dispatched with a central castmember, a longtime recurring character, and about a dozen others. Plus it featured Eric in a fabulous James Woods wig circa 1986. Let’s dig in!
We start the episode in an ashram in Los Angeles, where hotties are doing yoga. One of them turns out to be Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp). Ohhhh boy.
Over in France, Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) asks Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) how long he’s been sick. He says a month. Pam says she felt Tara meet the true death, so I guess that confirms it once and for all. Eric says that he has finally given up, mostly because of Sylvie.

Sookie And Bill Try To Track Hep-v Vamps
In Bon Temps, Sookie (Anna Paquin) put her master plan with Bill (Stephen Moyer) in motion: she was going to drink his blood (after last season’s transfusion, the blood she already had in her system is no longer adequate to alert Bill of her being in danger), and then sit in the woods as bait for the Hep-v vamps. Sookie would allow herself to be taken, just like the others, and Bill would then be able to locate them and rescue Sookie, Arlene (Carrie Preston), Holly (Lauren Bowles) and Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) from becoming Hep-v vamp dinner.
Bill isn’t all too thrilled with the plan, but he uses the time to...

Well that was an improvement, at least! When we last left True Blood, Sookie was hosting a psychic reading of Our Town where all the dialog has been replaced with “vamp slut danger whore.” We pick up where we left off, but from a very different vantage point. Let’s dig in!

Two points.

Remember back in January when rumors of a possible "True Blood" movie were floating about? Well, grab your dancing shoes and get ready to do the Bon Temps Boogaloo because it looks like we might be getting a musical instead!
Per the AP, at the "True Blood" season premiere this past Tuesday night in Hollywood, composer Nathan Barr, who has written the instrumental scores for the series' entire seven seasons, said that True Blood: The Musical is indeed in the works.
"This was something that I pitched to HBO and [series creator] Alan Ball," said Barr, adding that the musical will revolve around protagonist, telepath, and waitress Sookie Stackhouse, portrayed in the HBO series by Anna Paquin. But, Barr added, after seven seasons of twists, turns, and characters for Sookie, it's proven a challenge to trim the saga down.

Q- You are the current Director of WGA's Showrunner Training Program at Writers Guild of America West. How many applicants did you have for this year?
A- We had over eighty applicants for about twenty five slots. The application process is a two step process. First applicants have to be recommended by current show runners or creative executives. Once they've been recommended, they fill out an application. I review the applications and we end up interviewing about fifty candidates. Out of those fifty candidates we invite approximately twenty five people to participate in the Program. This year's first session was on Saturday, January 14th and it (the program) ran for six consecutive Saturdays.
Q- How long has the Showrunner Training Program been in existence, and can you give the readers a background of its origins?

More and more actors are joining "True Blood" as the fresh faces who will appear in the third season. Beside finding an actor to play the heavily recurring character Alcide Herveaux, the show also cast three additional actors for Yvetta, Reverend Daniels and Joe Lee Mickens.
Showrunner Alan Ball chose to pick lesser known actor to play the werewolf Alcide. Joe Manganiello, best known as Owen on "One Tree Hill" gets his major break as Sookie's aid in finding Bill who was kidnapped at the end of season 2. In the book by Charlaine Harris, Alcide is summoned by Eric and will have a fling with Sookie. However, Alcide is emotionally attached to his on and off girlfriend Debbie Pelt. An actress is yet to be found to play Debbie.
Ball said previously that Alcide would probably appear in the third episode. "This good-looking, rough-looking, but articulate and basically decent man is not what he seems.

True Blood is giving Eric a new toy. Actress-model Natasha Alam (The Bold and the Beautiful) is joining the season 3 cast in the potentially recurring role of Yvetta, Eric's new dancer at Fangtasia, sources confirm to me exclusively. Eric engages in a sexual relationship with his newest employee, which, if I'm not mistaken, is a flagrant violation of Fangtasia's super-strict sexual harassment policy. (I made a funny.) In other True Blood casting news, character actor Gregg Daniel (NYPD Blue, Desperate Housewives) has been tapped to play Reverend Daniels. Tara's mom turns to the Reverend for, um, comfort. Film Review: Hancock
Opens: Wednesday, July 2 (Columbia)
Will Smith's powers are even more extraordinary than those of a caped crusader who can leap way beyond the tallest buildings in a single bound. Smith has salvaged many vehicles more threadbare than "Hancock", and though his latest venture is decidedly uneven, he seems poised to score yet another supervictory at the boxoffice. The movie is a good showcase for him -- and for co-stars Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman. Imagine the heights they all could have scaled if the picture had been really good.
Article Templatehttp://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1119669402http://www.brightcove.com/channel.jsp?channel=769341148 var config = new Array();config["videoId"] = 1487044577;config["lineupId"] = null;config["videoRef"] = null;config["playerTag"] = null;config["autoStart"] = false;config["preloadBackColor"] = "#FFFFFF";config["width"] = 286; config["height"] = 277; config["playerId"] = 1119669402; createExperience(config, 8);One suspects that the movie's problems stem from the multitude of cooks who toiled on the project during the several years it took to reach the screen. Although the script is credited to Vy Vincent Ngo and Vince Gilligan, several others worked on it, including producers Akiva Goldsman and Michael Mann. Jonathan Mostow and Gabriele Muccino were among the directors attached to the project before Peter Berg signed on. Somewhere along the way, a sharp black comedy lost its bite.
The movie's sly premise is established in its opening scenes, which reflect the tart sensibility of Gilligan, the creator of AMC's bracingly cynical series "Breaking Bad". Hancock is a crime-fighter going through what appears to be a midlife crisis. He's a foulmouthed drunk who springs into action when Los Angeles is in trouble, but he behaves with such wanton disregard for people and property that he often alienates the citizens whose lives he saves.
When Hancock rescues an idealistic PR man (now there's an oxymoron), the grateful Ray Bateman) embarks on a campaign to burnish Hancock's bad-boy image. The benevolent publicist -- the antithesis of Tony Curtis' sleazy Sidney Falco in "Sweet Smell of Success" -- is another choice comic character. The movie introduces a third when Hancock meets Ray's wife, Mary (Theron). There are immediate sparks between the loutish superhero and the pert suburban housewife, and it's clear that Mary has some connection to Hancock's mysterious past. But this is where the movie starts to unravel. It veers from comedy to romantic tragedy and introduces an elaborate backstory that never makes much sense.
The best comic book movies develop a rigorous and logical mythology. As "Hancock" races toward its spectacular but muddled finale, it keeps rewriting its own rules in an effort to pander to the audience. The storytelling lapses are not helped by Berg's frenetic direction. As he showed in his most recent film, "The Kingdom", Berg is addicted to intense close-ups and kinetic hand-held camera movement. He seems to be worshiping at the altar of Michael Bay.
Berg's strength lies in his appreciation for actors and keen eye for casting. Bateman has brightened many recent movies, including "Juno" and "The Promotion", but No One has given him such a juicy part in years. The actor rips into it lustily. British actor Eddie Marsan (a member of Mike Leigh's stock company) also makes a strong impression as a genuinely creepy villain.
Special effects supervised by veteran John Dykstra are at once witty and eye-popping. In keeping with the concept of the surly superhero, Hancock makes his entrances and exits spewing mounds of concrete in his hazardous wake. The visual effects are stellar, but the true star is Smith, who again demonstrates acting chops as well as effortless charisma in a vehicle that's only occasionally worthy of his superhuman skills.
Production: Relativity Media, Blue Light, Weed Road Pictures, Overbrook Entertainment. Cast: Will Smith, Charlize Theron, Jason Bateman, Jae Head, Eddie Marsan, Gregg Daniel. Director: Peter Berg.
