If you are old enough to remember the good old days of renting out horror movies on videos you’ll remember the joy of watching the trailers for new releases, even if you’d seen them many times before. For the past week, set pictures of the new Spider-Man in action have been hitting the net. As you know, we here at Tmp enforce a strict “overcrowding” rule, which basically states that we don’t want to write too many articles about one particular subject to better makes sure that the subject doesn’t get boring. We just don’t think that we should bombard you with multiple stories about a single film…well, unless it’s Tron: Legacy. Or The Dark Knight Rises. Or Gravity. You know what, scratch everything I just said, we were just being lazy. However, we decided that the massive amount of set news (which are in no way, shape, or form associated with the studio) can no longer be ignored. Next Tuesday Shout! Factory unleashes yet another winning package that we never thought we'd see. That's right, kids. The Slumber Party Massacre collection is heading our way, and we have a look at it for you!

Stay up all night with the films that put a new twist on the slasher genre. Along with Halloween (1978), Friday the 13th (1980) and Prom Night (1980), Slumber Party Massacre (1982) helped define the slasher film ethos of the 1980s. Put together by first-time director Amy Holden from a script, titled “Don’t Open the Door," by feminist author Rita Mae Brown (Rubyfruit Jungle), the film was an immediate hit for Roger Corman's New World Pictures, eventually spawning two sequels.

Here, for the first time, all three Slumber Party Massacres are brought together in one DVD set, due to drill its way into your heart on October 5, 2010 from Shout! Factory, in association with New Horizons Picture Corporation.

October 5th is looking so sweet! In what's going to be a banner day for Roger Corman fans, Shout! Factory (god bless its soul) is releasing several of Corman's craziest titles as part of its stellar Cult Classics Collection, and we've got all the details!
