Leslie Moonves, president and CEO of CBS, has been accused of sexual harassment in an investigation published by The New Yorker. The article is written by Ronan Farrow, the journalist behind last fall’s Pulitzer Prize–winning story about Harvey Weinstein’s sexual abuse.
The exposé features six women accusing Moonves of making unwanted sexual advances on them, including actress and TCM host Illeana Douglas. The allegations date back as far as the 1980s.
Four of the women accuse Moonves of “forcible touching or kissing during business meetings, in what they said appeared to be a practiced routine,” while two told Farrow that the executive “physically intimidated them or threatened to derail their careers;” all claim that he grew “cold or hostile” after they rejected his advances.

All things come to an end and the true death arrived for HBO’s True Blood earlier this year. This week, HBO Home Entertainment offers up The Complete Seventh Season along with a mammoth complete series box set. In looking back on the series, it probably hung around a little longer than necessary, especially as things spiraled from over-the-top to insane crazy after series creator Alan Ball left.
The seventy episodes veered further and further from Charlaine Harris’s The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels and even she wrapped up her prose stories recognizing the time had come.
Bon Temps is under attack as things open up, picking up where season six dropped us. The Hep V Vampires are running amuck as many of our favorite supporting characters have been threatened. Pam continues her hunt for Eric leaving Sookie as the calming voice of reason and she’s not feeling all that steady.

With the end in sight—True Blood’s series finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. Et on HBO—here’s another look inside some of season 7’s most fun and memorable scenes, which have led us there.
Episode 1, “Jesus Gonna Be Here”: Tara (Rutina Wesley) dies—again.

The writer of Sunday’s installment of True Blood, supervising producer Kate Barnow, took EW inside Violet’s torture dungeon, Bill’s life-or-death decision, Jason and Jessica’s sweet car conversation, and every other big moment.
Entertainment Weekly: Eric is finally healed.
Kate Barnow: This is where we find out that Eric Northman is not leaving us, and we’ve been teasing this since basically episode 10 of last season, so it is a big moment. The sequence got pared down a bit.

True Blood, Season 7, Episode 7, “May Be the Last Time”
Written by Craig Chester
Directed by Simon Jayes
Airs Sundays at 9pm Est on HBO
On this week’s True Blood, Sookie seeks fairy assistance to cure Bill, Pam and Eric question Amber, Andy and Holly search for their missing children, and Hoyt returns to Bon Temps.
True Blood‘s final season has been excellent thus far–the writing’s tight, the story line’s are cohesive even when they branch in various directions, and the acting’s been lovely. After so many solid episodes, there was bound to be a dud–”May Be the Last Time” is, arguably, the weakest contribution to the series’s final season.
Up until now, the action and the emotional resonance have been evenly-balanced; for every Hep-v vampire attack, there were a handful of character moments showing just how affected the townspeople were by the tragedy.

As the final season of "True Blood" begins winding down, HBO is being a bit stingy with its sneak peeks of upcoming episodes, and all we have for you today is a quick 16-second clip from Episode 7.07, "May Be the Last Time."
Also, in case you missed over the weekend, we've included the look at the "weeks ahead" on "True Blood" that was released during Comic-Con. Only four more remain!

Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten), and Mr. Gus (Will Yun Lee) close in on Sarah (Anna Camp) in Dallas while Adilyn (Bailey Noble) and Wade (Noah Matthews) find a temporary haven... and unexpected hospitality.
Refusing to accept the inevitable, a desperate Sookie (Anna Paquin) turns to unexpected resources in search of a miracle. Bill (Stephen Moyer) recalls the inexorable forces that led him to his marriage 170 years earlier. A familiar face resurfaces in Bon Temps.

We're half-way through the final season of HBO's "True Blood," so this is as good a time as any for a celebratory Comic-Con send-off. Saturday's (July 26) Ballroom 20 panel is being moderated by the same guy who has moderated nearly all of the previous "True Blood" panels, so... I guess we know what to expect! Anyway, it's one vampire to another, as I just wrapped my live-blog for "The Vampire Diaries." Woo. 5:04 p.m. We begin with a clip reel of "True Blood" stars saying "Good-bye." And now they're going to do it in person. 5:06 p.m. Our panel: Nathan Parsons, The Lovely Deborah Ann Woll, Nelsan Ellis, Carrie Preston, Chris "Comic-Con Virgin" Bauer, Anna Camp, Brian Buckner, Kristin Bauer Van Straten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammell, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin. The loudest reaction, by a wide margin, was for Kristin Bauer van Straten, if you're curious. 5:07 p.

True Blood, Season 7, Episode 5, “Lost Cause”
Written by Craig Chester
Directed by Howard Deutch
Airs Sundays at 9pm Est on HBO
On this week’s True Blood, Sookie unwittingly throws a house party, Bill reflects on his human life, several relationships shift, and Pam and Eric attend a Republican Convention.
One of the best things this season of True Blood has done is balance the action with retrospective character moments–the past two weeks have featured plenty of bloodshed, so “Lost Cause” fittingly focuses solely on the residents of Bon Temps, human and supernatural alike. The result is an episode that isn’t particularly thrilling but is still satisfying on a deeply emotional level.
Hands down, however, the best monologue of the night goes to Lafayette. Nelsan Ellis has always been a brilliant and heavily underused member of the cast, so it’s always fun to watch him get his due.

Spoiler alert: If you haven’t watched this week’s episode of True Blood, “Lost Cause,” stop reading now. (Or, at least read our full recap first.) The Pam and Eric show continued as the duo traveled to Dallas in search of Sarah Newlin at a Ted Cruz fundraiser hosted at the Bush Library. We spoke to True Blood’s costume designer, Audrey Fisher, about their memorable formal wear. And because we’re still obsessed with those flashbacks to 1986, 1996, and 2006, we got the backstory on those looks as well.

E! is trying its hand at scripted series, and one of the projects it has on the docket is the latest from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. The "Gossip Girl" and "The O.C." creators teamed up once again on the series "Laurel Canyon," another Southern California-based television show that E! is looking to air.
The project is described as being about "a young woman who returns to her Hollywood family after her rock-star dad dies," and is one of eight scripted shows E! has in development. Among the others is a "darkly psychological retelling" of "The Prince and the Pauper" called "The Stand-In," a modern retelling of "Great Expectations" about a "morally corrupt family in the diamond business in New York City" called "Expectations" and series produced by Gale Anne Hurd and Kevin Spacey.

Brace yourselves. This list of the Top 100 Greatest Gay Movies is probably going to generate some howls of protest thanks to a rather major upset in the rankings. Frankly, one that surprised the hell out of us here at AfterElton.
But before we get to that, an introduction. A few weeks ago we asked AfterElton readers to submit up to ten of their favorite films by write-in vote. We conducted a similar poll several years ago, but a lot has happened culturally since then, and a number of worthy movies of gay interest have been released. We wanted to see how your list of favorites had changed.
We also wanted to expand our list to 100 from the top 50 we had done previously. We figured there were finally enough quality gay films to justify the expansion. And we wanted to break out gay documentaries onto their own list (You'll find the...

New York. The Last Modernist: The Complete Works of Béla Tarr opens today at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and runs through Wednesday, and R Emmet Sweeney has a wide-ranging talk with the retired filmmaker. "Whether or not The Turin Horse turns out to be Béla Tarr's last film, as the gnostic, gnomic Hungarian master has claimed it will be, the sense of finality is absolute," writes the L's Mark Asch. Aaron Cutler for Moving Image Source: "Primo Levi writes in Survival in Auschwitz that the lowest point a human can reach is when he or she is forced to act without choice, performing tasks purely for his or her own survival. Freedom of choice is what separates humans from other animals. The Tarr crew (which, beginning with him and partner, Ágnes Hranitzky, has gone on to include a regular screenwriter [László Krasznahorkai], composer [Mihály Vig], and cinematographer [Fred Kelemen]) began by comparing humans to each other,...

This week is the final airing of the syndicated movie review program At The Movies, marking a true end-of-an-era for those of us who grew up eagerly anticipating the weekly thumb wrestling of critics Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert.
In September of 1975 Chicago Tribune writer Gene and Chicago Sun-Times writer Roger were reluctantly paired for the monthly PBS show Opening Soon at A Theater Near You, which ran for two seasons before being renamed Sneak Previews.
The show became a huge hit for PBS, which decided to syndicate it with Gene and Roger remaining as hosts until 1982, when contract negotiations fell through. They were replaced by liberal commentator Neal Gabler and human block of wood Jeffrey Lyons, who would become best known for siring a quote whore (more on that later.)
Gabler left after three years, unhappy with the direction of the show, and was replaced by Michael Medved, who...

Who needs holidays? Make your own with the birthdays of movie people.
Parker, Oleg and Vlad the Impaler (as interpreted by Gary Oldman)
Today's Birthdays 11/08
1431 Vlad the Impaler would have turned 578 years old today if not for that stake through the heart. To be accurate, his exact birthday is unknown but sometimes he's listed on this date which probably has something to do with...
1847 Bram Stoker who wrote the original Dracula, which gave Vlad the immortality that he had mythically already won as the original nosferatu... vampyr. The cinema loves him harder and deeper than Lucy Harker ever could.
1900 Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone With the Wind. She didn't have to impale anyone or renounce heaven to achieve immortality. She just had to write one mammoth book. The movie based on her novel is still the highest grossing film of all time when adjusted for inflation. One of only four films...

Lisa Kudrow, whom I’ve crushed on since she kissed Rachel and said, “I’ve had better,” has always been a friend to the Lgbt community. And her latest project is no exception.
Kudrow and Dan Bucatinsky, who worked with her on The Comeback, are developing a comedy for Showtime based on the book Why the Long Face? by Craig Chester. The TV series, Rapture, is the story of Chester growing up as the gay son of born-again Christian parents.
If you don’t recognize Chester’s name, you may remember him from playing Nathan Leopold in Swoon or Adam in Adam & Steve, which he also directed.
Ok, I didn’t like Adam & Steve, but that’s beside the point.
Chester’s book is full of both humor and sadness, in much the same way Augusten Burroughs’ books are. Chester isn’t nearly as funny as Burroughs, but the story...

Boys Life 4: Four Play
Strand Releasing
NEW YORK -- Style takes precedence over content in this fourth installment of Strand Releasing's popular series of gay-themed short-film compilations. Perhaps the weakest edition of the series, "Boys Life 4: Four Play" features a quartet of efforts more reflective of the filmmakers' career aspirations than of a desire for meaningful expression. The film is playing an exclusive theatrical engagement at New York's Quad Cinema.
The opener, "L.T.R.", from writer-director Phillip J. Bartell, at least displays a timeliness in its satirical look at reality TV, which this summer has been on a particularly gay-oriented bent. It depicts the unraveling of the so-called "long-term relationship" between pot-smoking, stay-at-home Riley (Weston Mueller) and the younger, party-animal Michael (Cole Williams), a relationship not at all helped by the sexual fling between Michael and the filmmaker documenting their story.
Another rocky relationship is examined in Brian Sloan's "Bumping Heads", depicting the developing friendship between thirtysomething Craig (Craig Chester) and much younger Gary (Anderson Gabrych), who meet when their noggins collide at a party. Craig wants the relationship to progress into something more romantic but is unable to act on his desire until yet another incident of head bumping lands him in the hospital.
The most serious entry, Alan Brown's "O Beautiful", uses the Matthew Shepard incident for inspiration in its depiction of the aftermath of a gay-bashing incident in which a young man (Jay Gillespie) has been left for dead in a Midwestern cornfield. One of his attackers (David Rogers) returns to help him, with his true motivations only gradually becoming clear. Its extensive use of split screen is more distracting than illuminating.
But not as distracting as it is in "This Car Up", Eric Mueller's trivial depiction of the "meet cute" between a yuppie exec (Michael Booth) and a sinewy bike messenger (Brent Doyle), in which the relentless use of split screen is as annoying gimmicky as it's been in Mike Figgis' feature-length experiments.
