In the successful play Wait until dark (1996-1997) at the "Theater im Zimmer" of the famous theatre director Gerda Gmelin in Hamburg, he played almost 100 times en suite the role of criminal Mike Talman.
From a very early age, he also worked as an off-screen narrator for documentaries, commercials, radio plays and audio books and in later years also as a dubbing-actor. His personal and very versatile voice features many TVCs and spots for leading brands such as Mercedes, Philadelphia, Nivea, L'oréal, Villeroy & Boch, Manager Focus, Amazon, Pfanni, Beck's Beer, Champagne, Ferrero such as Giotto, Duplo and Raffaello, to name a few. As well as campaigns for Claudia Schiffer, Macy Gray, Roger Hodgson, Lara Fabian and others.
As a 12-year-old boy, he had to perform Friedrich Schiller's ballad "The Hostage" in 20 stanzas with 7 verses each in the German competition at his high School . He was rewarded with the highest award and the teachers commended him to the theatre group! At the age of 13 he played his first major role in the theater of his high school, Ottavio in the commedia dell' arte play Pantalones Wedding. A huge success and his desire to become an actor manifested itself into more than a dream, it became an absolute must. The fascination of slipping into other people's shoes has never left him.
Right after high school, before his professional career as an actor, Bullach completed a 3-year apprenticeship as a businessman (Martin Luther King School Kassel 1980-1983) with a final examination before the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and worked as a travel agent for a total of 5 years (1980 -1985). But even during this time he continued to play theater, his great passion since his earliest youth.
Subsequently, he completed his 20-month community service 1985-1987 on the North Sea Island of Borkum at the YMCA Hotel Victoria and learned the hotel business in all departments of these 400 bed house. During this time he founded in 1985 "The Young Theatre Borkum" and worked as a director for the first time. Bullach staged the educational play "What does love mean here?". In this educational classic about puberty, the discovery of the first sexuality, about the love of Paula and Paul, Bullach himself played Paul. Also, the role of the teacher and as such, he declared gay and lesbian love and sexuality to be normal ... The cult play from Berlin was a great success on the island, but in 1986 it was also the "scandal of the season" for the very conservative christian YMCA . Bullach was fired and banned from the intolerant YMCA house and dismissed months before the official end of his community service. But they couldn't stop him, Bullach took a room by an old lady and worked by day in her tourist shop, remained on the Island and successfully played the "scandal-play" with his team and without any restrictions until the end of the season.
During his subsequent 3-year acting studies at the Hamburg University of Music and Dramatic Arts, from 1987 to 1990 he also trained as a news anchor at the well-known television station NDR. At the same time , he also worked for the famous Label EUROPA in different radio play series - Fife friends (Constable Billings), The three ???, TKKG, Bob the builder, Airwolf and more.
When Bullach got the role of Samson (1989-1991) in the Sesame Street production, he was ordered to New York for two summer seasons and studied with Kermit Love from the Children's Television Workshop. Kermit Love, director, creator and designer of Samson and many puppets from the Muppet Show and Sesame Street, was one of his most important teachers. Subsequently he got the leading role of Detective Superintendent Mike Eschenbach in the famous series In the Name of the Law (1994-1996) in Berlin. Big success and he loved this character, but like all young actors, he wanted to play and experience a wide variety of roles. So, after 2 years he left this safe and successful series with some tears in his eyes and chose the slightly more difficult path for his further career. But from then on, step by step, he got very different roles in many different productions in series and movies. So for his development as an actor, it was the right way. He never wanted to be pigeonholed, both in his roles and in his life development. For that reason he played a variety of very different roles, from lover to playboy, from various loving family men (Alina, Dreamgate, Our Charly) aristocrat, lawyer, doctor in a hospital series, various detectives (In the Name of Law), generals, criminals and unscrupulous politicians (Island of fear), blackmailers (Tatort), Nazis, mafia types and murderers (Tatort, Soko). Apparently, his type cast has developed more and more into a criminal and mafia-like type at first glance in recent years. He has a penchant for evil, broken characters who often hide behind the mask of supposed goodness. So one of his dream roles is that of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
During this professional development, Bullach founded in 2001 MATTABU-Production, an audiobook publisher and production company, just to produce "The Little People of Swabedoo - four magical Stories" because no other major publisher believed in its rapid commercial success. Bullach, who was absolutely convinced of the magical essence and good messages of the stories, that gives love, strength, hope and peace, did not let himself be discouraged and so he produced and published the audiobook in his own publishing house. "He felt guided by great power and light," he always said when asked about the secret of his success and that this audiobook might even be one of his most important works, simply blessed! But it wasn't just magic, Bullach studied the necessary basic knowledge of publishing and his 3-year apprenticeship as a businessman, which he completed before studying acting in Hamburg, benefited him greatly.
