Zoltan Buday

Born in Budapest in 1952, arrived Canada as a refugee after his family"s dramatic escape from Hungary after the 1956 revolution. They arrived in Montreal in 1957, after a year in refugee camps. Zoltan became an accomplished classical guitarist. It was in his late teens that he started taking an interest in acting, performing with several small theater companies in Ontario. After several years working behind the camera, which included shooting an entire season of the TV fashion series (1985) "Wonderful Woman". He became involved in film acting while living in Calgary. His first lead was that of Superkiller in the second of the Black Cat films , Black Cat II (1993) it was shot partly in Canada and partly in Hong Kong. There followed a number of roles in Mask of Death, Decoy, a number of roles in TV such as X-files, Poltergeist, Viper and in a miniseries. Most of his roles made use of his martial art abilities, stuntwork, his comfort in several languages, and his rugged good looks.
After a health crisis a few years ago he slowed down to recuperate but put himself to work doing plays with Talbot Theater Production and festival films as well as working as dialogue coach for several productions. Mr. Buday worked tirelessly to set up an actor s union in BC which later became UBCP. He still performs classical guitar at various functions, several of his own compositions have been recorded. Mr. Buday paints and enjoys serious photography having exhibited his work since 1985. He now lives with second wife Natasha, and has two children, Golok Buday and Koszima Mair by his first wife Aletta. Having now fully recovered from his aneurysm, Mr. Buday is looking for new projects in film. His makes his home in Vancouver, BC. since 2007 and is a member of. UBCP, ACTRA.
