Exclusive: Andrew Lauren and producing partner DJ Gugenheim are behind two of this autumn’s most anticipated movies: Natalie Portman starrer Vox Lux, which debuts in Venice next week, and Claire Denis’ Toronto-bound sci-fi High Life, starring Robert Pattinson.

In writer-director Brady Corbet’s Vox Lux, Portman plays a successful pop star who is also trying to raise a teenage daughter. Jude Law and Jennifer Ehle are among co-stars while Killer Films and Bold are also producers. Denis’ English-language debut High Life focuses on a group of criminals taking part in space a mission to find alternative energy. Juliette Binoche, Mia Goth and Andre Benjamin are also among cast.

Lauren and Gugenheim will work with David Boyle, who will continue to be integral to the company’s investments, productions and business development.

Gugenheim most recently served as evp of production and operations at Lotus Entertainment where he oversaw production on Kidnap starring Halle Berry and brought in Replicas starring Keanu Reeves as well as Tigers Curse with Shekhar Kapur directing.

He started his career working for Joel Zwick followed by stints at CAA and Paramount Vantage.

A few years ago, there was a sci-fi film called Before the Fall that grabbed my attention. It was a story about a meteorite set to collide in the earth within three days. Meanwhile, a serial killer from prison escapes & threatens the main character’s family during the final days and the main character must defend his family. I never did get a chance to see it, but the storyline always stayed with me. It looks like Before the Fall‘s director, F. Javier Gutiérrez has lined up his next feature with Dimension Films.
