Blech ,a Communist activist, started the weekly publication L'Ecran Francais in December 1943 as an organ of film criticism for the underground Resistance movement.It took a critical attitude toward Hollywood product and was more favorably inclined toward the work of the Soviet Cinema.It ceased publication ten years later.
