Georges Bensoussan has studied Cinema in the IDHEC (High Cinema Studies
Institute) in Paris, in 1970. (Actually, known as La FEMIS)
He has been First Assistant Director from 1972 to 1981 for Cinema and TV, and TV Director from 1981 to 1998.
As TV Director, he made many TV Series, and especially Documentaries about Cinema Directors: He made Films about R.W.Fassbinder, George Tabori, Pasolini, Skolimowski, Nikita Mikhalkov, Emir Kusturica, Sacha Guitry...etc
And also, he directed many Theater plays as "The Moliere Collection by Comedie Francaise" (1997-1998).
He, also wrote and directed 3 short movies for Cinema: "Lüger", "L'Hiver approche", and "Bel ragazzo" . The two last were nominated to Cesar Awards, in Paris.
Now, he decided to dedicate himself to feature films.
He is also a playwright and wrote 4 plays:
The first: "Mes dernières paroles" has been published in "L'Avant-Scene" in France (1983) and selected in the "Contemporaries writings" category in the "International Theater Festival of Avignon".
The second: "Est-Ouest" has been selected in the "International Theater Festival of Avignon" in 1994 for a reading, and has been translated in english.
