Born in Aachen, Germany, Emily Behr is the second child of a German physicist and a French engineer. She moved with her family to Berlin in the early 1980s. After graduating from the French High School in 1994, she studied acting at the Theaterwerkstatt Charlottenburg from 1995 and 1998, at that time she already played "Velvet" in the German debut performance of "Popcorn" by Ben Elton at the Stükke Theater in Berlin. Shortly after she made her TV debut at the side of Inge Meysel in Die blauen und die grauen Tage (2000). Ever since she worked in cinema, TV and Theater in Germany, France and Spain. In 2014 she made her American debut in the Film Kinderwald (2014) which won the special jury prize at the Napa Valley Film Festival 2014. She also sings and writes for her own rock band Public Emily.
