Ricardo Acero(1918-1986)

Spanish stage and screen actor. He was born August 31, 1918, in the village of Molinos de Razón, 120 miles northeast of Madrid. He began his theatrical life in school plays and made his professional debut at 17 in Madrid's Teatro Cómico. His first recorded appearance in a film was in 1940, in El milagro del Cristo de la Vega, directed by Adolfo Aznar. Throughout his career, he alternated work on stage and in films. He worked with several important theatre companies in Spain, eventually forming his own company with the goal of presenting important plays to provincial towns which had not had opportunity to see them. Acero was best known in films for romantic roles, although he played a wide variety. He died December 1, 1986, in Madrid.
