Philip Abbott was born March 21, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA as Philip Abbott Alexander. He was an actor and director, known for his roles in The F.B.I. (1965), Quincy, M.E. (1976), Sweet Bird of Youth (1962), Columbo (1971), and The Young and the Restless (1973), among many other productions. He was married to Jane Dufrayne; the couple had two sons and a daughter. Abbott died on February 23, 1998, aged 73, of cancer in Tarzana, California, USA.
