One of the joys of long-running TV shows is their long list of guest and recurring characters and their big ensembles. It's how shows like "The Simpsons" and "Parks and Recreation" feel so lived-in because the many side characters that populate their worlds help immerse audiences into the story. This was also true in the case of "Bones," the hugely popular police procedural about a forensic anthropologist and an FBI agent teaming up to investigate murder mysteries through archeology and forensic anthropology. The show was popular with critics and audiences alike, lasting for 12 seasons and earning two Emmy nominations.
Like most shows that last that long, what made "Bones" appealing and popular was its cast, from the core ensemble of characters that fans fell in love with to the even larger list of guest stars, one-off characters, and even stars who were in the show before they broke big and became superheroes (and villains). Indeed,...

After Peacock’s documentary on Elisabeth Finch was released earlier this month, Camilla Luddington says she received requests to comment (including from the doc’s directors and The Hollywood Reporter) on the former Grey’s Anatomy writer who was revealed to have fabricated stories about her life. Luddington, who has played Dr. Jo Wilson on the hit ABC medical drama for 12 seasons, didn’t comment for the doc, nor has she commented since Anatomy of Lies released on Oct. 15. Now, she’s opening up about the experience on her podcast with her former co-star Jessica Capshaw.
“I remember when I heard this documentary was being made, but that actually came after finding out that someone in my daily life at Grey’s had lied about her entire identity — who she was, things that had happened to her. A whole ‘nother person. Whole ‘nother, whole ‘nother,” said Call It What It Is podcast co-host Capshaw,...

“Grey’s Anatomy” alum Sarah Drew recently opened up on the “Call It What It Is” podcast about her departure from ABC’s long-running medical drama series in 2018. Drew, who played Dr. April Kepner for nine seasons beginning in 2009, was let go from the show after its 14th season along with Jessica Capshaw, who portrayed Dr. Arizona Robbins.
“We were unceremoniously let go in a way that felt mean and unjust, and, because of that, the outpouring of love was so enormous it was like you were sitting there watching people [eulogize you],” Drew said on an episode of the “Call It What It Is” podcast, co-hosted by her former “Grey’s Anatomy” co-stars Capshaw and Camilla Luddington.
After news broke in 2018 about her “Grey’s Anatomy” exit, Drew posted a statement on X, telling fans, “I know you’re sad. I’m sad too. I haven’t really had the time to process this information.

“Grey’s Anatomy” star Sarah Drew said her firing from the long-running ABC series at the end of its 14th season was “unjust” but that returning to the show in seasons 17 and 18 was “freeing.” She told former co stars Jessica Capshaw and Camilla Luddington on the “Call It What It Is” podcast Sunday, “I don’t need anything from anybody on that set anymore.”
“They’re not responsible for my livelihood anymore. They’re not responsible for my success or my joy,” Drew added. “So it feels very, very freeing to pop back in.”
Drew is the first “main” cast member who has visited the podcast, something Luddington said fans have been “begging” for.
The actress, who starred on the show as April Kepner for 9 seasons, also defended an earlier comment she’d made that getting fired was like “attending [my] own funeral.” She told Capshaw and Luddington in full, “What I was trying to describe was…...

Exclusive: Grey’s Anatomy has proven time and time again that characters may be gone but they are never forgotten. A return this coming season will take that to a new level as Kali Rocha is set to reprise her role as Sydney Heron 17 years after she last appeared on the popular ABC medical drama.

Sydney was first introduced in Episode 15 of Grey’s second season as a perky fourth-year resident who filled in for Bailey (Chandra Wilson) overseeing the interns while she was on maternity leave. Rocha came back as a recurring the following season, appearing in five episodes,...

Steven Spielberg’s stepdaughter, Grey’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw, said the famous filmmaker has achieved ultimate grandparent status in her house.
“The kids talk about him all the time,” Capshaw said during an appearance on Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa. “They just think he’s the sweetest and the cutest, and they just are so proud of it.”
Capshaw is mom to four children: Luke, 16, Eve, 13, Poppy, 12, and Josephine, 8. She is the daughter of Kate Capshaw, who Spielberg married in 1991.

Several longtime Grey’s Anatomy cast members were at the SeriesFest event in Denver, Colorado and briefly teased this season’s finale.
The ABC medical drama is heading to its final episode of season 20 – a ten-part series as a result of the writers and actors strikes of last year.

This article contains spoilers for Grey’s Anatomy season 20 episode 4.
Fans were introduced to the character of Dr. Arizona Robbins, portrayed beautifully by Jessica Capshaw, back in season 5 of Grey’s Anatomy. Over the years, many felt seen through the character because, as the actress wrote on her Instagram, Arizona was one of the first members of the LGBTQ+ community to be represented in a series regular role on network television, making her impact on the world “permanent and forever.” So when her character left in the season 14 finale, it left a big hole in the medical drama.
Thankfully, she wasn’t killed off. Instead, Arizona decided to move to New York for the sake of her daughter, who needs both of her parents. She teams up with Dr. Nicole Herman (Geena Davis) to start the Robbins/Herman Center for Women’s Health, where she will perform fetal surgery, and launch her maternal mortality prevention program.

Arizona Robbins brought a little bit of magic back to Grey's Anatomy.
The blonde Peds Goddess made a triumphant return during Grey's Anatomy Season 20 Episode 4, and while the interns weren't the least bit impressed with her ability to pull off a miracle.
It was hard for viewers not to be impressed with this fan-favorite character making a big return after her controversial departure during Grey's Anatomy Season 14.
For the most part, it was an understated return for her, and the vibe of the hour overall was as well.
But it was still a solid enough hour that delivered some nostalgia, even if it left us hanging about a few things.
One of our most pressing questions was whether Arizona and Callie found their way back to each other after she made the big move to the Big Apple to be closer to Sophia.

Paging Dr. Arizona Robbins!
Jessica Capshaw made her return to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on Thursday night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy. Naturally, the case involved fetal medicine, which she’s still been pursuing and advancing since she moved to New York with her daughter Sofia to be closer to her ex Callie.
In this episode, Arizona is called back to Seattle to perform groundbreaking surgery on a fetus with a brain abnormality that would likely result in the baby’s death upon birth.
She teams up with Grey Sloan’s chief neurosurgeon Dr. Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) to essentially perform a miracle and, in the process, inject some faith back into the rest of the staff at the hospital after a series of trying cases. Meg explained to EW, “That’s the amazing thing about the writers’ room and having so many characters that have been on and off the show, everybody is always pitching different stories to bring back different people. It was a nice balance of, ‘This medical story is amazing,’ and we’d been looking for a way to bring Arizona back. So it just seemed right, and it felt like it was time to hear that laugh again in the hospital.”

With Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) coming back to Grey Sloan during the April 4 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, we’ve all wondered if Callie (Sara Ramírez) will join her. Well, Season 20 showrunner Meg Marinis has the answer: Unfortunately, Callie will not appear in the episode. Marinis told TV Line that “there are so many [alumni], and everyone has busy careers and schedules,” so Ramírez was unable to return. Arizona’s reason for coming back to Grey Sloan is “really connected” to her specialty as a pediatric surgeon, so it “made sense” in this case for Callie’s absence. “We have an open-door policy here,” Marinis said about former cast members returning. “We always want to see old characters come back and interact with the new characters.” According to ABC’s description of Season 20 Episode 4, Arizona “returns to Grey Sloan for a particularly complicated case. The interns are interrogated about their past mistakes, while...

Grey’s Anatomy has been renewed for its record-breaking 21st season. Although this may sound like good news, fans of the medical drama megahit are not happy. The fans feel as if the show has run its course and it is time for it to end. The stars of Grey’s Anatomy may feel the same way and it has been suggested the show start preparing for members of the cast to leave.
Shondaland Should Get Smaller
Fans of Grey’s Anatomy are over it. They no longer want the ABC medical drama, created by Shonda Wilson, to continue. Their reasons vary from fan to fan, but the consensus appears most of them will be willing to say to say goodbye to the show.
The debate about when Grey’s Anatomy “jumped the shark” has been up for debate for quite some time now. That debate is moot. The series has been renewed for another season.

Grey’s Anatomy will continue to chart the lives and loves of the workers of Grey Sloan Memorial.
ABC has officially picked up Grey’s Anatomy Season 21, keeping the show on the air for the 2024-2025 season.
The exciting news comes three weeks into Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, allowing fans to watch the rest of the season knowing it won’t be the end.
The same can’t be said for spinoff Station 19, which got canceled ahead of its current season premiere, so we’ll say goodbye to all those characters very soon.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 continues to have sporadic appearances from one-time lead Ellen Pompeo, who dropped down to a recurring player last season.
At the time, it seemed like the show was gearing up for its end, as many attributed the cast changes to its spiraling budget.

Welcome back, Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw)! Arizona returns to her former place of employment in the April 4 episode, “Baby Can I Hold You,” of Grey’s Anatomy, and until now, all we knew was that she was back for something history-making and, from the logline, that it’s a “particularly complicated case.” Now, the promo, which you can watch above, shows her joining Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) in front of a room full of doctors, including the interns. “A few months ago, I started a clinical trial in which we operate on the baby’s brain before delivery,” Arizona reveals. This has never been done before, “so who wants to make history?” she asks. Also coming up in this episode, the interns are interrogated about their past mistakes, including Dr. Teddy Altman’s (Kim Raver) collapse, as you can see in the video. Is Dr. Lucas Adams (Niko Terho...

You think you know… but you have no idea. That might be the memorable tagline of MTV’s 2000s-era docuseries “Diary,” but it applies to Apple TV+’s newest program, too.
The seven-episode ”Manhunt” tells the incredible story of the search for John Wilkes Booth (portrayed by Irish actor Anthony Boyle) in the aftermath of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln (Hamish Linklater). The limited series, of which the first two episodes are now streaming, is adapted from James L. Swanson’s book “Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer,” and while it’s a historical drama, it’s anything but dry. Described by Apple as a conspiracy thriller about one of America’s best known but least understood crimes, the show also has a perfectly deployed sense of humor, making it more than meets the eye.

In her Season 20 preview for Deadline, new Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Meg Marinis called it “back to basics,” and the season premiere, which she wrote, offered just that. In a return to Grey’s early years, the episode ended with Bailey retaking charge of the surgical interns.
The opener started with the interns facing the music after getting themselves in trouble with questionable medical decisions in the Season 19 finale and Nick posing a question to them, “Which one of you am I firing?”
Banned from any doctor duties, the group find themselves in the middle of the action anyway. Simone and Lucas end up in the back of an ambulance trying to stabilize a patient with Bailey and Meredith’s directions while their parked vehicle is being hit by a wayward self-driving car every couple of minutes. (It is unclear why the ambulance was not moved away from the crashing car.

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 20 premiere.
“Grey’s Anatomy” hit the reset button in the aftermath of its traumatic Season 19 finale, including the exit of one of their own. By the end of the Season 20 premiere, Dr. Nick Marsh (Scott Speedman) announced he’d be leaving Grey Sloan Memorial to reunite with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) at her new home in Boston.
His last move as residency director was passing the torch to the now Catherine Fox award-winning Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), effectively bringing the series back to basics with her taking charge of teaching the hospital’s latest class of interns.
“I feel like if anyone can bring these interns back from what just happened, it’s the person who helped create doctors like Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang and Alex Karev,” showrunner Meg Marinis told TheWrap. “Bailey doesn’t always get the credit that she deserves.

Fans are dying to know if Teddy Altman is going to die on Season 20 of Grey’s Anatomy. It is known that her contract was renewed, however, that does not mean she will be around the entire season. In the trailer, Teddy is seen collapsing to the floor while performing surgery. This is the most viewers got to see in her storyline this season. However, a showrunner recently let fans know there will be a lot of changes this time around.

Ever since promotion got underway by ABC for Grey’s Anatomy’s milestone 20th season, there’s been one big question on the minds of fans:
What the heck is going on with Teddy Altman?
The initial promo showcased her collapsing while performing surgery, leading to speculation that Kim Raver’s time on the series could be coming to a close.
Then, a lengthier trailer was released that gave some context, and honestly, it didn’t sound good for one of the show’s best characters.
We finally have some clarity on the situation, which sounds as dramatic as expected.
New Grey’s Anatomy showrunner Meg Marinis opened up to TVLine about the upcoming plot and how it will change Teddy.
Teddy survives her ordeal
The best part of the tidbit is that we now know that Teddy pulls through her ordeal, which is good news for fans of the long-serving character.

On Oscar night, details matter. Who are you wearing? What are you nominated for? Who won? Just don’t expect everyone to know the answers.
“What movie won?” Rick Hilton asked as he and wife Kathy Hilton assumed position at the end of a glamorous queue to get into Vanity Fair’s 30th anniversary Oscar party in Beverly Hills on Sunday after 10 p.m. They asked their son, Kathy says, but no clue. Fortunately, a gentleman standing directly in front of the couple had the answer. “It was Oppenheimer,” he said, not mentioning the awkwardness of Al Pacino’s best picture reveal. Some details can be saved for Monday morning. Plus, there are more rapid-fire questions to field.
What movie is that? Is it based on a true story? Who was the emcee?

Grey’s Anatomy fans will see the return of several big characters this spring.
One of the people returning to the Grey’s Anatomy cast is the actress who played Arizona. But we aren’t going to see Callie, it seems.
In the run-up to the new season of Grey’s Anatomy, it was revealed that Jessica Capshaw is returning to play Dr. Arizona Robbins again.
Arizona was a fan-favorite character, but she left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Season 14 to move to New York.
The move was so her daughter Sophia could be closer to her other mom – Dr. Callie Torres.
Actress Sara Ramirez played Callie for years. She left the show at the end of Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 when Callie developed a relationship with Penny Blake (played by Samantha Sloyan) and moved to New York.

Why didn’t Sara Ramirez scrub in as Callie, too?

Steven Spielberg kissed his wife and embraced his mother before his left hand floated to his temple in disbelief. Then he grew visibly emotional as he made his way to the stage of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The 46-year-old Spielberg had just won his first Oscar — as best director for “Schindler’s List,” an unflinching look at the Holocaust and its horrors. “This is a big surprise,” presenter Clint Eastwood said somewhat sarcastically.
As Eastwood’s joke suggests, Spielberg’s victory at the 1994 Academy Awards was preordained — an unavoidable coronation after he had dominated popular culture so completely over the past year. Not only had he subverted his image as a boy genius, spinning escapist fantasies out of celluloid, by tackling a project as grown up as “Schindler’s List,” but he had also reestablished himself as the most successful director in Hollywood with another 1993 release, “Jurassic Park.” The adventure film, essentially “Jaws” with dinosaurs,...

Grey’s Anatomy fans everywhere are getting their wish:
Jessica Capshaw is returning as Arizona Robbins during Season 20 of the veteran medical drama.
The news came out of nowhere earlier this month, almost six years after the actress was written out of the show alongside Sarah Drew.
Neither actress had approached showrunners to depart, with the reason for their exits being put down to creative reasons.
And now, all these years later, Capshaw is scrubbing back in as Arizona, and we have the first photo to prove it.
Capshaw took to Instagram to show her back in scrubs and in character as Arizona, alongside some exciting information.
When will Jessica Capshaw’s first episode back air?
Capshaw captioned the photo with a date, which happens to be a Thursday, so it has to be her big comeback.

The highly-anticipated hour is set to air Thursday, April 4 at 9/8c.

It's a milestone 20th season of Grey's Anatomy knocking on our doors, and they're not holding back.
We saw that Grey's Anatomy Season 19 felt like a soft reboot of the series, simultaneously tapping into the nostalgia with throwback formats with new faces and the return of series fan favorites.
And Grey's Anatomy Season 20 promises to keep up that same energy.
To the relief of many, Ellen Pompeo didn't hang up her stethoscope permanently despite her minimal role last season, and we know for a fact that she'll make some appearances this season.
It's even been teased that she'll appear in the season premiere.
And Grey's Anatomy Season 19 also excited long-time fans with the epic return of Kate Walsh as Addison Montgomery.
Throughout the season, she helmed a critical and timely arc about women's health issues, taking on the abolishment of Roe v. Wade and showcasing the long-reaching ramifications of that decision on the healthcare industry.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 is on its way with several new changes, including the shift of Ellen Pompeo‘s Meredith Grey from series regular to recurring, as well as the return of Jessica Capshaw as Dr. Arizona Robbins. As recently confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, Pompeo is only expected to appear in four episodes during the season. So of course, many are speculating that some Meredith storylines will be dropped in this strikes-shortened, 10-episode season. Although ABC says she may appear in more installments, reps have declined to comment further, fueling the speculation. No matter what, some things need to be addressed about the titular Dr. Grey in the future this season, and these are the three most pressing. Is Nick Marsh the Next Great Romance for Meredith? The last we saw of Scott Speedman’s Nick Marsh, he was in Boston reuniting with Meredith for the first time in a while.
