However, these days, the cast has been plagued with tons of scandals. Is the future of That ’90s Show hanging in the balance based on the issues that have recently surfaced about the cast members of That ’70s Show? These are the details.
That ’90s Show Renewed Or Cancelled On Netflix?
Sadly, that ’90s Show didn’t make the cut for a Season 3 renewal on Netflix. Viewers who enjoyed That ’70s Show back in the day had high hopes for the spinoff. That’s because the creators filled the original to the brim with edgy humor and witty comedy. Spinoffs don’t always perform as well as the originals they’re based on, so this...

The city also hosts the Miss Universe pageant, and the U.S. space station, Skylab crashes just outside the city.

After Kurtwood Smith announced that Netflix had canceled That ’90s Show after two seasons, his co-stars took to the comments to share their reactions.
Mace Coronel, who played Jay Kelso, said, “Such an honor to meet and work with you.”
Smith replied, “Mace, you’re a wonderful young man with a ton of talent to go along with it… it was [a] pleasure every day to see and work with you! Thanks for all those good days!”
Coronel’s character was the son of Ashton Kutcher’s Michael Kelso and Mila Kunis’ Jackie Burkhart.
Callie Haverda, who played Leia Forman, the daughter of Topher Grace’s Eric Forman and Laura Prepon’s Donna Pinciotti, also had some kind words for Smith, who played her grandfather Red Forman.

Bad news out of Point Place, Wisconsin: Netflix has officially canceled That '90s Show after two seasons. Deadline has confirmed series star and executive producer Kurtwood Smith's announcement of the cancellation, which also mentioned a slight glimmer of hope for fans.
"To steal Red Forman’s words… we aren’t going to be dumbasses… we will shop the show, because good grandparents would try hard to get these kids graduated from high school," Smith wrote at the end of a lengthy Instagram caption for fans of That '90s Show.
It's unclear where the sitcom will be shopped and how much interest there would be for the series to be purchased elsewhere. That '90s Show saw its viewership continue to decline with the two-part release of season 2 in June and August this summer, as part 2 debuted with only 1.8 million views and part 3 didn't manage to chart in Netflix's weekly top 10 most popular shows ranking.

It looks like the next generation of Forman and friends won’t get to experience Y2K as Netflix has decided not to continue with episodes of That 90s Show. The sitcom was a legacy continuation of the popular Fox series That 70s Show, which ironically started a couple of years after when this last season of That 90s Show takes place. The news of Netflix’s cancellation was confirmed by one of the show’s stars, Kurtwood Smith, who portrays Red Forman, as he posted on his Instagram about the news.
This decision comes after the second season had released its part 3 batch of episodes on the streamer. It was a decision that seemed to be coming as, according to Deadline, part 2, which debuted on June 27, only cracked the Netflix Top 10 list once in its first full week of release, with 1.8 million views. Netflix is not proceeding with more installments of That ’90s Show, Deadline has learned. The news was confirmed on Instagram by star Kurtwood Smith who indicated that the comedy will be shopped elsewhere.

The 10-episode first season of That ’90s Show (aka Part 1), which featured appearances by several That ’70s Show stars, including Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Wilmer Valderrama, was followed by a Season 2 renewal for 16 episodes, split into two parts, Part 2 and 3.

Back in 2022, Amazon closed an $8.5 billion acquisition of the film studio MGM, giving them ownership of the studio’s thousands of films and TV shows. Last year, we heard that the six MGM properties Amazon was most interested in doing something with were Poltergeist, Stargate, The Thomas Crown Affair, Legally Blonde, Rocky, and RoboCop… and we’ve recently heard updates on some of those projects, with a Poltergeist TV series finding its showrunners and Michael B. Jordan signing on to both direct and star in a new version of The Thomas Crown Affair. Now Deadline has broken the news that a new RoboCop TV series is moving forward and has James Wan, the director of such films as Saw, The Conjuring, and Aquaman, on board as executive producer.

“That ’90s Show” closed out its third season with a shakeup in dynamics, with the future of Laura Prepon’s character intentionally left “open-ended,” according to Prepon.
As summer in Point Place started to wind down, Donna (Prepon) revealed to Leia (Callie Haverda) in Part 3’s penultimate episode that her father, Eric scored his dream job in California. Donna told Leia she could spend the school year in Point Place as well, while Donna commutes between her job in Chicago, Point Place and the West Coast — a suggestion which Leia immediately jumped at.
With Leia’s friendships and relationships cemented in Point Place, Donna eventually agreed to the plan, which Prepon, who also directed all the episodes in Part 3, said was fueled by knowing how badly Leia wants this dream to be a reality.

Well, they aren't thrilled and there are plenty of punishments to go around. But imagine if Eric had done that in That '70s Show...
Speaking of Eric Forman, Topher Grace still didn't appear in That '90s Show to reprise his role from the original series, but the sequel sitcom does offer us an update on Leia's dad. In the penultimate episode of part 3, Donna returns to Point Place with some exciting news for Leia and the family, but this news comes with big changes for their family's living situation.

The lighthearted nostalgia of That ’90s Show transports viewers back two decades to a simpler time. Set in the summer of 1996 in Point Place, Wisconsin, the Netflix sitcom follows teenager Leia Forman as she spends her vacation with her grandparents, Red and Kitty. Leia and her friends pass their days relaxing by the pool, hitting the local arcade, and getting into the usual scrapes one expects from restless youth.
The show serves as a sequel to the beloved That ’70s Show, revisiting the cozy basement setting that played host to countless hijinks from Eric, Donna, and the gang in the original series. Now, a new generation has claimed the couch, among them Gwen, Jay, Nate, and the whip-smart Ozzie. While the teens embark on their own adventures, Red and Kitty provide the wise and wry parental supervision that made them fan favorites.

A little while ago, I got to do something really cool. To celebrate the debut of That 90s Show Part 2, I was invited on behalf of JoBlo to visit Los Angeles and interview the show’s two most iconic stars, Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, who play Red and Kitty Foreman, the beloved parents from That 70s Show who are now loving grandparents on the sequel series. Having grown up watching That 70s Show during its initial run, this was a huge treat for me, so I was thrilled to sit down and talk to the pair, who seem to absolutely love playing their roles and are always delighted to be in each other’s company. And yeah, I had to squeeze in a RoboCop mention, as to me Kurtwood Smith will always be Clarence Boddicker, perhaps the most iconically evil villain of the 80s. Check out the interview above.
