Nicht lange nach seinem ersten Fall stolpert der bekannte TV-Kommissar Tim Seebach beim Besuch seiner Heimat Bremerhaven-Westerfleeth wieder über ein vermeintliches Verbrechen: Im Watt wurde eine Leiche entdeckt. Klar, dass Tim da sofort wieder in den Ermittler-Modus fällt und "Der Lux" das Zepter übernimmt. Sehr zum Ärger von Hauptkommissarin Wiebke Tönnessen, die das überhaupt nicht lustig findet. Zumal Tim nach dem Tod seiner Mutter nun auch ihr Vermieter ist, und entsprechend wirklich Wichtigeres zu tun hätte, als sich in ihre Ermittlungen einzumischen - etwa sich endlich mal um ihr defektes Bad zu kümmern. Für Tim ist das Badezimmer angesichts des Verbrechens aber selbstverständlich eher Nebensache. Mit seinen Fragen, Recherchen und Vermutungen strapaziert er so recht ordentlich die Geduld der Menschen um ihn herum, unter ihnen seinen Freund Erik, seine nicht weniger neugierige Nachbarin Frau Jessen, aber auch den Hafenmeister, Fischhändler Lossum und dessen Tochter. Selbst vor Verdächtigungen gegen die charmante und geschätzte Restaurant-Besitzerin Hannah schreckt er nicht zurück.
