Rummi (Ramesh Aravind), Nani (S. Narayan) and Moni (Mohan Shankar) are three inmates who wants to remain in jail permanently as they do not want to witness outside world. A kind hearted inspector (Srinivasa Murthy) gets them released as he finds goodness in them and wants them to lead a good life. All the three get a home thanks to an auto driver (Sundar Raj) with a condition that one of them marries his middle aged elder sister (Umashree) who is unmarried. Umashree falls in love with Nani assuming him to be Lord Krishna. However he escapes from the forced marriage. All the three ends up falling in love with different girls. Due to a mix up they end receiving a bag of money intended for other robbers. All the three witness Srinivasa Murthy's daughter and her lover (Harish Raj) committing suicide and after saving them, they come to know that Srinivasa Murthy is ill and she is forced by her uncle (Doddanna) to marry his immatured son (Komal Kumar) to take over her property. In the end, trio with the help of their lovers (two of them being undercover police) and an inspector (Anant Nag) teach them a lesson, gets them arrested and they get married in the end.

He falls in love with Deepa (Deepa Sannidhi) but Sanvi (Aindrita Ray) is in love with him. He has no intention but friendship for Sanvi, so he tries to make that clear to her and show interest in getting Deepa as his life partner. There are tough guys in Deepa's house that he must convince. Param marries Deepa and they have a child, but a few years later Deepa dies and Sanvi offers to marry Param. Param reacts to it in a very jovial style; he is under the impression that although Deepa isn't physically present, she has not left him mentally.

A story has a beginning, middle and an end, but it's not necessary that they be in that order. Girish Kasarvalli's award-winning Kanasembo Kudureyaneri (based on Amaresh Nugadoni's Savaari) is a classic example of this. The film applies a back and forth narrative to tell the story of gravedigger Irya and his belief in Siddhas, nomads whose arrival is considered auspicious. It is believed that if the death of a person coincides with the arrival of a Siddha, the soul is sure to go to heaven. Irya and his wife are made known of their arrival through dreams. In fact for Irya, if a Siddha appears in his dream, it denotes a death in the village. However, once despite dreaming of a Siddha, Irya is told that there is no death in the village. He goes to the house of an ailing village elder, anticipating his death but is sent back by the caretaker saying all is well. As if this is not enough, a Siddha not arriving in the village despite his wife having dreamt of his arrival, crushes Irya's faith in Siddhas, who he believes are his protectors. Is Irya an easy prey to superstitions or are scheming villagers exploiting his dreams for their own good? The film beautifully exposes the materialistic attitude of people. It leaves you wondering whether destroying one's beliefs is the only way to progress; whether there are chances of beliefs being mistaken for superstitions just because the ones who hold these beliefs are not part of the mainstream. While the first half of the film may have you raise your brows at Irya's and Rudri's dreams and faith, the second half sets out to suggest that what may look superstitious to one may be a way of life to the other. It also shows how sometimes what looks real may be unreal and vice versa, and that with faith in our beliefs, we can achieve anything.

The story revolves around the dangers of superstition, particularly when it concerns marriage and how unscrupulous elements in society could manipulate these beliefs to their benefit and lead to tragic consequences.

As per the Madhwa customs, the last rites of the dead man has to be performed at the earliest. But, Naranappa was a rebel who fought against Brahminism, who ate meat, consumed liquor and also, married a Dasi (a prostitute). Since, he doesn't have any family, there is some confusion as to who will do the last rites and fire the funeral pyre. Praneshacharya, the head of the Agrahara, a devout and learned Brahmin, is tasked with providing the solution.
