Films set at the beach (California)
Hi, I am a grad student working on a PhD on Los Angeles beaches in the 20th century. I am trying to come up with a list of the movies which were shot on the beaches of Los Angeles County. I am especially interested in stories which are set in California (rather than movies that just used these beaches as a filming location but were set in other locales) and in movies filmed in the 1920s-30s-40s-50s and 60s; I'm trying to go beyond the well-known beach movies of the 1960s (Beach Party, Gidget, etc.) and see how the beaches were portrayed before. Thanks for your suggestions!
