There's definitely some novel change to the rom-com scenery here. Most characters are likable, with a few exceptions. Her realization of the shallow world she wants to leave behind/apart is believable, even if only when interacting with those from her privileged life who serve to provide contrast.
There are some genuinely funny scenes, though I can understand why some would find the humor crass. But I think that's the point--she's coming from a world that's prim and proper to a world of wild and raunchy, down-to-earth people.
Given the rather simple lighthearted basis for the show, I am doubtful that this will have enough material to go very far without jumping the shark. As it is, I can already see them trying to develop other characters to generate more story arcs, but unfortunately, they're not as interesting, and not adding much.
