A slice of contemporary American life ever since American beauty, thickening plot that intertwined the lives of the characters met over an accident. An assertive talented teenager with her own preferences that clashed with a possessive dad with a different yardstick for morality. A depressed veteran trying to cope up with stress and trauma to vent out his rage, a professional gangster trying to find moral equivalence to human trafficking transforming vulnerable teens into props to vent out midlife crisis. All skillfully tied in the plot of redirected anger from retribution to a guilt trip to rediscover the root cause, from an avenging what-meets-the-eye school to fulfilling last wish of a departed brave heart who chose fight over flight. Comic shade assayed in the villain role gave a wanted relief. Subtle background score, thought provoking dialogues, could have been more pacy and mature performance by lead roles and supporting cast. The jig saw is all put together but could have been more tightly held to entertain better. A decent frame transition PoV shots. A replaced offspring to shower unconditional love the real happy ending. Credits scroll up in the foreground a pensive signature tune of the Test by Jim, that haunts and seems pontifying where to draw the line in parenting.
