Jyo Achyuthananda (2016): Actor turned director,Srinivas Avasaraala made a beautiful debut with OOhalu Gusagusalade in 2014 which is a surprise hit.I loved that movie especially Avasarala's direction and humor. So I have lot of expectations on Jyo Achyuthananda.Trailer looked promising and songs are melodious. So how is the movie??
Plot: Achyuth (Nara Rohith) and Anand (Naga Shourya) are married to the girls of their parents' choice. Achyuth is well settled in life, while Anand as medical representative is struggling in his career. At the marriage anniversary of Achyuth, the name of Jyothsna pops up.The brothers blame each other for the mess created by Jyothsna. When their wives start suspecting, each one tells a story that the other brother fell in love with Regina, who stayed as a tenant in the upper floor of their house few years ago.During her stay, Regina was friendly with both brothers and each try to win her love but she actually is in love with another person. An incident creates rift between the three and Regina leaves for USA. What happens when she returns back to their lives? How would their wives react? Do the brothers patch up again?
Plus Points:
1)Performances: Jyo Achyuthananda has brilliant performances form both the lead actors.Nara Rohit and Naga Shourya gave their career best performances as Achyuth and Anand.Their chemistry as brothers is so lovely and have lot of funny moments. They really lived in their roles as brothers.Regina has limited role but gave good performance.
2)Dialogues: Srinivas Avasarala again did his magic of humor with his witty dialogues. They are the major plus point of this movie. Most of the simple situations looked lovely because of those dialogues.
3)Direction: Avasarala is brilliant with his direction. He may have done flaws in writing at few parts but he succeeded in giving a new feel to movie. The scene shot in Dialogue in the Dark is brilliant and its such a masterpiece work.
4)Music: Kalyan's music is pleasant and especially BGM really suits the mood of the movie. It helped a lot n scene elevation.
Minus Points:
1)Lack of emotion in few scenes: Avasarala tried to bring out a emotional conflict between two brothers but failed in bringing necessary emotion in few important scenes.
2)Slow Pace: Though this movie has short duration,it still seems bit lagging at few parts.
So,Jyo Achyuthananda has good witty dialogues, brilliant performances and refreshing moments but Avasarala could have done bit more work with screenplay.
My rating 6.75/10
