A TV series that examines the truth behind the ostensibly true stories told in Hollywood films.
Well-made, objective and edifying series. Shows the truth behind same very successful and highly-regarded movies. The stories themselves are very interesting and the episodes make for a good documentary series even without the fact that the story was also told, possibly in a different way, in a Hollywood movie.
Quite objective in the way the stories are told. Where some inconsistencies between the truth and the movie exist, this isn't demonstrated in a "gotcha!" sort of way but matter-of-factly, all while stressing that dramatization is part-and-parcel of making a movie interesting. In putting forward their version of the truth, the makers of the series do their research and show their sources, all while leaving the door open to them not being entirely accurate. No unsubstantiated opinion, hyperbole or shoving their view down our throats - just plain fact-stating backed by research, as a documentary should be.
Excellent series.
