I don't like this so-called "season 2" of George of the Jungle. This can barely be considered a new season, and feels more like a cartoon reboot gone horribly wrong using existing character/prop models from the 2007 cartoon (except for George's body). From what I've seen, the crew tried to make the story and such accurate to the original 60s cartoon, and I applaud them for that. However, there are a lot of problems that I want to address in this show. I watched all episodes, and it was nothing but a boring train ride. Here's why:
Switching Magnolia and Ursula's names is one thing, but shouldn't now-Magnolia be left out from this "season" so it could be more accurate to the 60s cartoon? Nope, they decided to keep her. In the 2007 version, the redhead was a fashion-loving, scatterbrained jungle girl who spoke with a Southern accent and was pretty calm to be honest, but here she is a ferocious feral beast who tries to kill and anyone on her place. Her mouth is also disgustingly-drawn and barely even pretty. The city girl also was turned into a science-obssessed freak whose only thing she craves is science. Dr. Scott's name is now Dr. Chicago and isn't the city girl's father here, the Witch Doctor also got his role as the father of the redhead scraped off.
The animation is an improvement from the previous cartoon, but there are a lot of errors. I don't like the idea from the crew that they had to hire new voice actors and people that didn't have any involvement with the 2007 cartoon either, and they seem to like to insert a lot of questionable and bizarre scenes that someone would easily take out of context. Cuspid, Dr. Chicago's henchman, was only put in the show for filler purposes, and it's quite baffling how George of the Jungle "season 2" doesn't explain why he turned from a dentist to an evil dentist determined to destroy the jungle. Many of the episode plots are also very weird and have a lot of over-the-top crudeness or just plain surreal moments, even for a kids' show.
Tl;dr George of the Jungle "season 2" is terrible, and once you've watched all of it then you would regret ever doing that.
