I appreciate that this game does try to pay homage to the classic, it's just that there are cases that kinda ruined this. Scooby Doo: First Frights is an entirely mixed game based on the cartoon we know and love. Where there are some cases that it got right, others is convincing that this is more of something to promote that stupid straight-to-television live action film. On one hand, I would've forgiven this a little if it weren't for the terrible graphics and some laughably bad costumes you would unlock. And other issues too like how the episodes don't really connect one another. But on the other hand, it does contain some of the gameplay being fun when it comes to chase levels, bosses and trophy missions. And I think the final episode saved the game. If anything, that's what this game should've been about and not the rest of the episodes. This is one of the cases like The Mis-Edventures where I would recommend to treat this as one of those compilation DVDs since I wouldn't see the story for it. But this would be fun to play if you like playing licensed games from the 2000s. Even if the gameplay may be basic, at least you'll enjoy scavenger hunting for the bonus collections. This is definitely one of the weaker games out of the Scooby-Doo games I've played, but I can take this over The Mystery Begins any day.
