Another day and another mediocre Reel One Entertainment TV movie. It's actually not plagued by technical issues which is shocking suprise. Yes, there are some scenes with loud background music when there is dialogue, but it's nothing serious like in the most of their movies. They overused a bit stock footage, too and I am pretty sure it was shot in Kelowna, BC but it can pass as Seattle.
Supporting cast was pretty good. Actually, they were so good that movie would be above average if we actually watched how Rebecca managed to set up Gillian and Felix. Instead we got Preston Vanderslice as lead. Nothing personal against him, I watched him in at least 5 previous movies, and he was always good as supporting actor, but as a lead, just like in "The Engagement Back-Up", he's just bad, and in his defense writing made it just worse. First time watched Natasha Wilson, and she was I guess ok, but still, supporting cast was better than her.
If you want to watch TV movie about arrogant sportsman who changed for the better watch "Retreat to Paradise" or wastly superior "Love on Sidelines".
Also message to the writer - if you don't understand football or how you Americans call it soccer, ask somebody before you put huge nonsense in the movie. I write this because ROE TV movies are broadcasted and streamed in many European countries, and I would say that they much more popular than in NA because they are probably cheap to buy. So, what's the nonsense? There is no draft in any professional sport in Europe at all, and there is no trading of players. It's your pure American thing.
And as every other ROE TV movie, trailer shows the whole movie so save your valuable time.
