I did not know what to expect when I watched this film , sat with a bowl of popcorn I pressed play on the Betamax Video recorder ( yes I had transcribed it to tape ).
I had recently bought a large screen TV and this evening I had invited a group of friends , they in turn had asked their friends , we had a turn out of 25 people , I thought it was due to them hearing about my new TV but infact it was that they heard I was showing Earth Virus of the dead.
As soon as the main film began I knew it was quality , the intense music drew the listener in to a world where things were not as they should be.
The villans of the show were truly awful and the good guys did their best to show the viewer they would not tolerate the behaviour of these terrible characters.
It was a story of such bravery and comradery , the kind I had not seen in a film before.
I must say that the sound track and stunning photography shinned upon my new TV. I had transcriped the film onto Betamax before playing and that had added definition to the picture from the lower graded DVD , it had given it a feel from the past Romero days.
At the end of the film , our group cheered , they all raised their hands in the air and shouted hoorah !!! It was that epic.
I would recommend this to anyone who liked Dawn of the Dead ... it is infact like the follow on from that film , and some would say it is better than Romeros classic , this film will probably be talked of in the terms that Romeros is now , in 20 years time they will ask , have you seen ' earth virus of the dead ' - it will be in the top 10 classic films from 2020's.
