This had to be one of the most beautiful love stories I have ever seen, and I'm not some teenager just stuck on Shangguan Tou. It was so beautifully done! The scene in the steamy water when Chong Xuezhi is transferring her inner energy to Shangguan Tou is one of the most beautifully and well done romance scenes ever! It surpasses Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze's scene of their hands together molding clay in "Ghost" in my book.
After watching "Ashes of Love" and being disappointed that Runyu got cheated all the way around in having love in that movie, I was thrilled to see "And The Winner Is Love!" Yunxi Luo is such an exceptional actor! He deserved to be the leading man and he did a spectacular acting job. You could see everything he felt just looking at his his facial expressions, which is key in acting. The music in this movie is so beautiful as well.
Shangguan Tou is such a wonderful character! He's gorgeous, regal, awesome in martial arts and he's kind, even though he tries to play it cool. Not so easy with adorable Chong Xuezhi. You watch her mature from a shy girl to a beautiful and fierce fighter. Some of the scenarios dragged out a little at times, but none involving Shangguan Tou and Chong Xuezhi. It was easy to get lost in all of their scenes. I think I prefer Yunxi Luo in movies from the Ancient Chinese era better than the contemporary films. He the perfect for them.
I hope others will take time to watch this mini-series. It's well worth it. I purchased this movie on Amazon, but I hope it comes out on a DVD, do I don't have to deal with Amazon Prime glitches. Sorry Amazon.
