When trying to raise money following the apparent loss of their rent money, Robin stated he had a jar of 'ha'pennies' (a halfpenny - half of an old penny) and later poured a jar of ha'pennies on a bank managers desk as a means of opening a bank account. However, this series began broadcasting in 1973 when the UK had transitioned mostly to decimal coinage, and the pre-decimal halfpenny had already been withdrawn from circulation on 31 July 1969.

The information above is inaccurate. The old halfpenny, or ha'penny - pronounced "hayp-nee" - was phased out as stated, but decimalisation brought in a new one. The coins that Robin pours on to the bank managers desk are the new ones - much smaller than the old ones.

It's Only Money

Robin and Chrissy arrive and thinks that their upstairs flat has been broken into. The rent money is gone. They are already a month behind with the rent to the Ropers.

They report it to the police and the boys in blue point out that they had a spare key on a string and you can see the money easily from the letterbox. It was like giving money away to charity.

Now the three of them have to avoid George who keeps bringing up the subject of the rent even when they see him in the pub.

I liked that one of the policemen was more interested that another of upstairs flat was empty. His cousin is looking for a flat.

I could not help wondering that the pub landlord looked like Terry Thomas.
