- QuizThis TV special was something of a gamble. The ratings for the Lupin TV specials were steadily declining so the producers decided to shift the tone from the light hearted romps of the previous films to something akin to the violent action films of the early 90's. The gamble paid off and the success of this film led to several subsequent Lupin TV specials.
- BlooperAt the begin of the movie you can clearly read the word "Polizia" on the cop's cars, but instead the policemen wear the carabinieri uniform.
- Citazioni
Inspector Koichi Zenigata: [takes a shot of booze] This was delivered to me this morning...
[holds out a notice]
Arsene Lupin III: [reads] "Detective Zenigata: today, July 23, as of tweve o'clock noon, you are hereby dismissed as Chief Investigating Officer of the Lupin Task Force." Dismissed?
Inspector Koichi Zenigata: That's right! From this moment on, I'm not responsible for the arrest of you and your little cronies!
[bursts into tears]
Inspector Koichi Zenigata: Oh, my life is falling apart! But after chasing you for twenty years and not having a single conviction, how can I blame them?... What hurts the most, is that some cocky young hotshot is gonna come in guns blazing and do what I never could!
Arsene Lupin III: [takes a seat] I'll drink with ya, Pops. Let's toast to your newfound freedom.
Inspector Koichi Zenigata: MORON! Are you even listening to me? I'm depressed!

- ConnessioniVersion of Rupan sansei: Pilot Film (1969)
Later both Jigen and Lupin learned that Zenigata's new assignment is shutting down an arms merchant/war smuggling organization called "Shot Shell" which is well known in the Black Market. Which is what Lupin decided to do, by negotiating with this secret organization. Not only that but the replacement for the "Lupin Case" is an ex-mercenary named Keith Hayden, who's orders are to rub out Lupin and his comrades. Will Lupin successfully reprise Zenigata's role for Interpol, and will he have a winning chance in defeating Keith? I consider this Lupin TV movie to be higher level than the first 4. As the character designs, and animation style differ from the previous ones. Especially when Fujiko looks more sexy than she did in the earlier TV movies.
Voyage to Danger is a highly recommended anime for those who appreciate Lupin the 3rd. It has Action, explosions, humor, weapons, bomb shells, Submarines, and some unexpected parts too.
My rating is 8/10 just cause it's one my personal Lupin favorites.
