The Franco-Italian production (70%/30%) had two versions, one in French - Les mantes religieuses - and one in Italian - Praying mantis, of which nothing is known today.
In France, the producer registered the movie in 19-12-1972 at the RPCA as Les garces, and got the censorship Visa nº 5383. The film was released in 30-08-1973 or 10-09-1973, according to sources.
The movie had a running time of 84m 37s, as it was in the earlier theatrical exhibitions and since 2022 in Blu-ray.
The French copy was dubbed in English for international distribution:
- 1973 Spain, with Spanish subtitles, as Chicas sedientas de amor, rated S (for sex);
- 1973 UK, as Deadly When Aroused, with 82m;
- 1981 UK, as Love-Hungry Girls, two VHS editions by Active Video, announced on the box cover at 72m but with a running time of 69m;
- 1982 UK, as Deadly When Aroused, classified X by the BBFC, cut to 70m;
- 1983 UK, as Sex Hungry Girls, VHS edition by Steptonhurst (a sex licensed shop), with a self-applied 18 rating.
