For some reason, I have watched a lot of Italian sex comedies from this era over the years, and this one is neither the funniest nor the sexiest, but it is definitely one of the strangest. The first story involves a fummetti (comic book) artist who lives a wild, swinging Bohemian lifestyle, but is in a creative rut. His agent arranges for him to meet a (seemingly) very conventional woman (Janet Agren)and have a very conventional romance, which provides material for a new hit fummetti (although it really doesn't seem like it would from what I know about fummetti). The second story is about a middle-age man who encounters a former lover (Sylva Koscina)and is introduced to her teenage daughter. The mother admonishes the daughter for her sexual frigidity at the dinner table with this stranger (which seemed a little weird to me). The daughter then later shows up where the man is staying and confesses that her sexual "problem" stems from an incident where she witnessed her mother having sex with a guy in a red beret. Well, take one guess who that was! I don't what Freudians would make of the eventual "solution" to this bizarre problem, but dirty middle-age men everywhere would definitely give it two thumbs up (three if you count their erections).
The two male actors in this are completely negligible presences, so I'm not going to say much about them. Scandinavian Janet Agren was one of the foreign actresses who worked a lot in Italy, but she rarely was called on to do nude scenes and doesn't have any here. The sex appeal of the first story is mostly provided by the ditzy and always under-dressed girlfriend of the protagonist (Michaela Miti), who is a cross between a psychedelic hippie flower child and Olivia Newton-John circa 1983 (what with her doing yoga in a see-through, g-string leotard). Sumptuous, long-time Euroobabe Sylva Koscina is pretty much wasted in the second story, but her oft-naked daughter is played by none other than Desiree Becker (aka Desiree Nosbusch), who a year earlier had played the sexiest teenage celebrity stalker/murderer/cannibal ever in the very disturbing German horror film "Der Fan(Trance)". Besides her very immodest (and underage) appearance in that twisted flick, her other claim to infamy is hosting the Eurovision music contest a few years later (that contest was considered a joke in the 80's, but it probably anticipated crap like "American Idol" years later). She's the LAST person I'd expect to see in a quaint, goofball Italian sex comedy, but she was definitely always very cute, whether you go for "barely legal" types or not.
The director is none other than the venerable Sergio Corbucci,who is mostly known for spaghetti Westerns and is probably the second most famous director in that genre next to Sergio Leone. He does OK with this incredibly bizarre material. My main complaint is they should have had THREE stories like they usually did in these comedy anthology films because both stories really run out of steam well before they're over (especially the first one). They're also only sporadically sexy and not particularly funny. Just very, very weird.
