It appears that Krzysztof Zanussi's movie "Die Unerreichbare" - called "The Unapproachable" in English - is a real combination. Directed by a Pole, it has a German title and is spoken in English starring a French woman, and then released on video by MGM (to my knowledge, it's not yet available on DVD). Leslie Caron plays an actress who one sees a man demand to get let into her house, claiming to have been attacked. Apparently, this guy just wants to stay in her house, never clarifying his motivation.
I didn't find this to be a bad movie, but I was a little confused as to what the overall idea was supposed to be. Maybe it was looking at the actress's possible loneliness in her career. But that's just conjecture, so don't quote me. Worth seeing. Until "Die Unerreichbare" comes out on DVD, Portland's video/DVD store Movie Madness might be the only place where you can find it.
