No pun intended and almost literally ... in a sense. Pierre Richard - a quite well known man. Not just in France/his home, but worldwide. Of course it does depend on how cinephile you are and how much you care about movie history in a sense. That all being said, I would not call myself an expert of his movies, but I do believe others when they say, that this is not his work.

Still and even so, the jokes are there, the comedy mostly born out of the situations he and his partner in crime (no pun intended and not literal partners) get themselves into ... you can see the appeal to say the least and while not everything may make sense ... is that really something you care about? Suspend your disbelief and just go with the flow ... so you can have fun with it.
