Recensione in evidenza
"Superargo versus Diabolicus" is a weird Italian spy/superhero/wrestling movie that you just have to see to believe! I am not exaggerating about this!
Superargo is a professional wrestler who accidentally killed an opponent in his latest match. He's naturally disheartened and vows to quit wrestling. This is when the government approaches him, as they want him to become a secret agent.
During testing for his spy work, they find that Superargo has very strange abilities. His blood almost instantly coagulates....so if he's shot or stabbed, the wounds stop bleeding instantly! He also can hold his breath for seven minutes! He can exert himself yet his blood pressure and pulse don't fluctuate at all! In fact, when you think of all his abilities, you wonder what planet this masked wrestler comes from, as he is kind of like James Bond AND Superman rolled up in one....but mostly Superman!
Superargo's first assignment is to determine who stole a shipment of radioactive material as well as why. It turns out some megalomaniac named Diabolicus has stolen it and he has a cult-like following. He, naturally, plans to eventually rule the world. Can our superhero defeat this nasty jerk?
While I liked this film, as I liked the idea of an Italian version of the El Santo films from Mexico (they are unintentionally quite funny), the film itself was only okay. It wasn't bad enough to be that funny and it wasn't as good as some other Italian films, such as "Danger: Diabolik"....which is just as cartoony as Superargo but had a more interesting script. Worth seeing if you are very curious (it's currently on YouTube) but not exactly a must-see.
