Boris Ingster(1903-1978)

Latvian-born writer-director who had worked with Sergei Eisenstein in Russia. Ingster arrived in the U.S. during the 1930's, where he became best known as the director of Lo sconosciuto del terzo piano (1940), an effective minor film noir, produced by RKO on a modest budget. Ingster helmed another film noir a decade later, Il segreto del carcerato (1950), before moving on to television as a writer/producer.
