Rose's Last Summer

This is the story of a couple of crooks who will inherit a fortune if their mother/mother-in- law lives to be 65. She actually wants them to have the money, but she knows she is ill and isn't going to make it. So they hire a washed up movie actress, played by Mary Astor (The Maltese Falcon) to play her until the money passes. She is the spit and image of the old lady once she dons a wig and matches her voice and mannerisms. Enter people who know Rose/Astor and things get complicated. Once again, the plot is so far fetched and the chance of this succeeding so remote, it's hard to think about anything else as it progresses. Especially when Rose starts to balk at the criminal act they are performing. I'm still waiting for the first quality effort.
