Den of Vipers

Rate this book
Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel—The Vipers.

They run this town and everyone in it. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses.

Yes, sold me.

They own me now.

I’m theirs in every sense of the word. But I’ve never been meek and compliant. These men, they look at me with longing. Their scarred, blood-stained hands holding me tight. They want everything I am, everything I have to give, and won’t stop until they get just that. They can own my body, but they will never have my heart.

The Vipers? I’m going to make them regret the day they took me.

This girl? She bites too.

18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse/assault that some readers may find triggering. Along with graphic sex scenes and violence. This is a dark book.

probably the worst book i’ve ever read. i don’t even know where to start, there are so many things wrong with this book. since i probably can’t write an organized review, maybe i’ll just make a list. hang in there, because it’s going to be a long one.

things i didn’t like about Den of Vipers:

the writing was worse than a lot of things i’ve read on wattpad. that’s saying something. wattpad is the central for horny teenagers with terrible writing, and yeaaa, this is worse. so. you get the idea. the author was trying to hard to make things sound good and to cuss alot and honestly it sounds like a worse version of a book i tried to write when i was younger and thought swearing was the coolest thing in the world. ummm yea it was that bad. deadass. i’d give you actual quotes from the book but i’m too lazy and can’t be bothered yeet.

roxy is the most nOt LiKe oThEr GiRLs mc i have read in a long while. she has silver hair, eDgY mAkEUp, and tAts. i know i said i was too lazy to get quotes but i just had to:

“I take more time with my makeup, applying my signature red lipstick, dark liner, and eyeshadow, making my brown eyes pop. Some call me a typical rocker chick, fuck, I even have the piercings to go along with the makeup and tats.”

ahahhahaha nobody cares rOxY 💀💀😭🖐

another one:

”Sighing, I brush back my silver hair and put it in a quick ponytail as I start to close up.”

ew.

one more??

”All in my style, black and edgy.”

we get that ur eDgY and cOoL ok we don’t care 💀

ok ok last one:

”I frown and look at the tangled mess which is my hair, shrugging before throwing it up in a bun.”

i bet the bun looks perfect, too, right?

aaanyways. we don’t stan.

the plot.... doesn’t exist. look for a plot. seriously. search far and wide for a fucking plot. all that happens is this group of pervy tough guys kidnaps a girl (for absolutely no reason) and they hate her at first but she has sex with all of them so they like her by the end of the book. i didn’t even finish this, and i know exactly what happens. (please tell me if i’m wrong.) it’s dumb and it’s problematic and honestly what in the wattpad. i half expected one of the guys to secretly be harry styles but we can’t all have our wishes come true huh

the page count is so long and for what. seriously, for whatt?? there’s no reason. absolutely no reason. fuck this honestly.

the guys in this book make a big show of torturing rapists and stuff but they’re rapists themselves... at one point the “nice” guy of the bunch rapes roxy and the psychopath guy can’t believe she would even think to blame the nice guy. wait i think i have a quote actually:

”She doesn’t get to make Kenzo feel like he took her without consent, it would wreck him. He’s good like that”

#logicwhatlogic

that’s fucked up and not okay period. i don’t give a shit if he’s “good like that.” wtf

the other guys are just dumb stereotypes too... we have the “leader,” the “enforcer,” the “bookie,” and the “assassin.”

the leader is the rude asshole in the fancy suit who acts untouchable but actually has feelings under that mask. coooool sO uNiQUe

the enforcer has had a bAd eXpEriEnCE with one woman so he hates all women now. #feminism

the bookie is supposed to be the nice one out of the group but he’s the first one who rapes roxy so....

the assassin gets turned out by lighting people on fire and torturing them until they die... within the first couple of pages he bites some guys earlobe off. (that shouldn’t be funny but oop 💀)

uhm yea these guys suck. not much else to say.

literally everything else you can think of in a book is terrible in this one. no, i’m not exaggerating. read it for yourself.

things i liked (or tolerated) in den of vipers:

absolutely nothing. i hate this book with every fiber of my being and even though i didn’t finish it i am still going to count it towards my reading challenge because i had to suffer over 200 pages of this dumpster fire. i deserve an award thank you and goodbye. 😌

tw for rape, violence, etc

600 pages and I still can’t find the plot. Seriously, there’s nothing there.
When I heard this book was a reverse harem I thought ‘oh like OHSHC?’
And before you ask. No, not like OHSHC. Nowhere near it. 😔
Let me sum this whole book up:
Girl gets sold to big bad mafia group called the vipers (really, were all other names taken that you decided 'vipers' was a cool name?)
The ‘Vipers’ consist of 4 guys.
1. The cold, leader who must always put a mask on to protect his brothers and always wears a damn suit. *yawn* next!
2. The brooding ‘enforcer’ with anger issues who spends his nights fighting to get his anger out. Seen that before, NEXT!
3. The raging psychopath that literally sets people on fire for fun. Ok this is new. Scary, but new. So I respect it. Next?
4. The man obsessed with bets and runs all the casinos in town but is low key a sweet heart. I don’t have it in me to diss him because he’s too 🌸🌙💞🥺
Anyways the five live together yada yada.
She hates them yada yada.
She realises that they’re her ‘home’ yada yada.
If you’ve spent literally anytime on wattpad, you’d have seen this before.
This book is literally wattpad on steroids®
I now trade mark this term.
All license reserved to me. 😌
2 stars 😬

*yall need to stop coming for me in these comments, I don't care! take my opinion or cry about it somewhere else xx*

this was the dumbest fucking book I’ve ever read literally. This was literally smut cover to cover. and don’t get me wrong I like that shit. I grew up on wattpad hello. but it got to the point where it was so fucking boring. There is no plot not even in the slightest. Yeah never fucking again. Also the scenes were very disturbing and I don’t usually get triggered from shit but I was very triggered from this. there was no reason this book had to be that spicy and not even in a good way.

When I was in Year 6, the day before my birthday, a bee stung me on the eyelid. The pain was agonising and my mum had to dig the stinger out of my inflamed, irritated eyelid while I cried. It was agony. And yet reading this book was nonetheless the single worst experience of my life. Why I inflict these things on myself is a question for my therapist.

07/27/2023: Re-read via audiobook - DNF at chapter 5 - see bottom of review for comments

“Throw me to the wolves and I will come back leading the pack!”

This was a dirty filthy mafia story and it was very good. It was a long one though, it didn’t display pages but for how long it took me to read, I would guess at least 600-700 pages, though I could be wrong. But I would much rather read a long book like this than a series. I wish more authors would have one long book instead of three or four shorter ones. I can’t tell you how many times I have read a book and said I can’t wait to read book 2, but by the time it comes out I have either forgotten about it or am too busy to read the second book.

This was the story of Roxxane who is a tough as nails bar owner in the seedy part of town. Everybody in the area knows not to mess with her because she knows how to fight, she has a bat behind the bar that she is not afraid to use and she will fight dirty, with a kick to the cahone’s whenever possible.

When Roxy’s abusive father, whom she left when she was a teen, gets in debt to local mobsters called the Vipers he settles his debt by giving them his daughter. Then send four of their enforcers to pick her up and she gets the best of them. So the four Vipers come to her and take her as their captive.

What I liked about this book:

Roxy is an awesome heroine. She is independent, tough and beautiful. She isn’t afraid and she likes pain so she is able to stand up to the four hot as sin, tattooed tough guys that take her. They call each other brothers and all four are as close as real brothers because they have all been through hell and are broken in their own ways.

The leader is Ryder, he wears a suit and runs the Viper corporation, which is a legitimate company worth millions and has a lot of smaller companies underneath. Ryder is cold when he needs to be and his main goal is to keep his brother’s safe. Ryder’s real brother is Kenzo, who is more emotional but is also tough in his own way, he works with Ryder in the legitimate businesses. Kenzo also is a master at games and runs several illegal casino’s, he can also can throw down when needed.

Diesel is the assassin and his job is to torture and kill. He is a bit crazy from his childhood and loves to inflict pain, it is something he is very good at. Diesel can get anyone to talk when he gets to “play” with them. He is awesome and funny and cra-cra in a good way. He is the first to fall for Roxy.

Garrett is a tall muscular guy and he hates women and doesn’t like them being near him or touching him. He once fell in love and it went bad and he was betrayed, so he is determined not to make that mistake again no matter how much he wants Roxy. Garrett is the enforcer and he and Diesel make sure they are getting paid by those who owe them money and are in charge of the not so legal businesses. Though the vipers run the city and most of the cops are on their payroll. They can basically do what they want without fear.

I liked the storylines, first about the Roxy as a captive, then about their problems with the triad. I also really liked all of their background stories when each of them opened up about why they are broken and what their lives have been like. I also loved how hot and steamy the romances were. Though this is a reverse harem, it was generally like Roxy was having four separate romances. There was only one or two scenes where more than one of the were intimate with Roxy at the same time.

What I didn’t like about the book:

Though Roxy was awesome and very tough, I do think that there were a few times she was a bit too crass for me. Like one time she went with Ryker to a meeting with the board of Viper Corporation and she walks, sits down and puts her feet up on the table. I just don’t think that an adult who wants to be taken seriously would behave like that. She doesn’t need to curse at certain times and be disrespectful to look tough. I just think as a bar owner, she would know when to act crass and tough and when to act like a lady.

Another thing was that we know that Diesel is a bit crazy. He shows it in many ways but especially when he is getting information from someone in the basement of their building. We also know that Roxy likes pain and Diesel likes to cause pain so they do that when they are intimate. I just didn’t like that he said a few times, even after admitting he loved her, that he might kill her someday. He is so cute sometimes, with his crazy, but saying that was a bit too out there for me.

Though overall, I really liked this book. There were quite a few steamy scenes, but the book was very long so there was also a lot of story. I liked how it flowed and loved the action scenes. Roxy refers to John Wick a few times and this book does remind me of John Wick in a way because it was quite bloody and the bodies do pile up throughout the book. It is also hysterically funny at times and there were so many great quotes for me to put in my updates, that I couldn’t come close to using all that I wanted. I would say this was a 4 star review but the things I liked so outweighed the thing I don’t that it bumps it up to a 5. Especially considering that rather than a series, it is one long stand-alone book. I wish authors would do that a lot more.

The audiobook was told in multiple points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Hollie Jackson and Cornell Collins. I like Hollie Jackson for alien romance, but for this one she sounded a bit outside the right age range for Roxy, though she isn’t quite as bad as Cornell Collins. He sounds about sixty and his cockney accent for Diesel makes him sound like an old pirate and it made it hard to get into the story and hard to understand. Hollie also did a cockney accent which I hated. Between the two of them, it sounded like a Disney film with all the characters overacted to the extreme. I DNF’d the audiobook at about chapter 5 and I will re-read the print version sometime soon. I am not changing my rating, since the book was so good, but I DO NOT recommend the audiobook version.

The audiobook was so enjoyablet, audio was perfect. Here’s where you can find the sample and format links: Den of Vipers by K.A. Knight (Audiobook) - it delivered the kind of mafia romance I crave. The characters were well-written and thoughtfully developed, and I appreciated the multiple perspectives that added depth to the story. The author did a fantastic job of making each of the four men distinctly different from one another, which kept things fresh and engaging.

Roxy was the standout character for me. She's a strong, independent, and no-nonsense woman who expertly wraps these four men around her finger. My favorite relationship is definitely the one she has with Diesel; their chaotic energy together is delightful and incredibly entertaining.

Each of Roxy's relationships with the other three men is unique, adding layers to the overall narrative. The dynamics among the five characters create a compelling story filled with spicy scenes and emotional depth. I appreciated how the book addresses heavier topics, providing insight into the characters' motivations and behaviors. It illustrates how different people react to similar traumas, showing their resilience and determination to fight back.

I did have two minor issues with the book. First, I found the frequent use of the word "cream" to be off-putting. Secondly, the pacing felt lengthy at times; there were moments when I thought the story was nearing its conclusion, only to realize there was still about twenty percent left. So, be prepared for a longer read. Overall, though, I adored the book, and Roxy has quickly become my new favorite female character!

Where do I even start with this mess of a book?

DNF @67%

TW: Kidnapping, Blood, Gore, Gun violence, Sexual Assault, rape, sexism, self harm, mental illness, death (on page), torture, toxic relationship, domestic abuse

To be fair, I knew I wouldn’t like this book, but I really did not expect it to be this bad. Right now, it has a 4.11/5 rating…it couldn’t be that bad, right?? Oh, I was wrong. I was so wrong.

Synopsis: After her estranged father sells her to settle a debt with the infamous band of brothers The Vipers, Roxy must work hard to stay safe or…lose her heart?

(Commence puking)

You Might Like This If
1. You enjoy dubious consent.
2. You enjoy reverse harem.
3. If you like smut, chances are this will be a satisfying read. The author is very good at building up tension before and during these scenes. Although, I must say that many of the scenes are extremely graphic. The pairing of violence and sex is a common theme within this book. If you like to explore those themes in conjunction with one another, this might be enjoyable for you.
4. You enjoy stories with multiple POVs.
5. You enjoy stories with unreliable narrators.

Ahem, now that that’s taken care of.

I HATE THIS BOOK.

I felt like I was in a freaking fever dream while reading this. Knight is truly an author to behold because somehow she managed to make me bored, angry, and just plain confused all at the same time.

Let’s introduce our cast of characters:
1. Ryder: he’s your everyday boss dude who thinks wearing suits is a personality trait. Toxic masculinity x100000.
2. Garrett: he’s our incel. He had a really traumatic experience with a woman and instead of fixing his shit and going to therapy, he has now turned to ~misogyny~
3. Diesel: I think his name explains it all. And while I don’t think an affinity for knife play means that you are a psychopath, he is definitely a psychopath. A murderous one at that. Weirdly enough, I think the author tries to use him as comedic relief.
4. Kenzo: my favorite. He is the gambler of the group. He’s definitely misogynistic and rape-y, but he’s the best of the group. That isn’t saying much.
5. Roxy: Annoying bitch with Stockholm syndrome who tries to convince you she doesn’t have Stockholm syndrome for 646 pages.

I don’t want to offend anyone, it’s okay to like what you like, but why the hell was this something people were recommending?? Out of all of the dark/taboo romances you could recommend, THIS is the one y’all are talking about 😭??

There are issues with this text, like, SERIOUS ISSUES. Lack of plot, pacing, very very problematic characterization of kidnapping and abuse victims. I feel like I must be missing something. I admit I am not a part of the BDSM community…but, idk, something tells me that Den of Vipers isn’t an accurate depiction of a healthy BDSM relationship at all.

But you know what it is an accurate depiction of? Stockholm syndrome.

This book tries its hardest to convince the reader that in some way Roxy CHOSE to stay with the Vipers. That she loves them. That this isn’t manipulative, at all. And that to me is disgusting. It also does its hardest to slut shame women, but I mean, what do I expect from a book that is literally depicting an abusive relationship with ZERO self awareness?

Here’s some quotes to enjoy (Possible triggering content: emotional abuse/manipulation, Sexual Assault)

"She doesn’t get to make Kenzo feel like he took her without consent. It would wreck him.”

🤡Are you kidding? It would hurt HIM?? YOU LITERALLY KIDNAPPED HER.

"She seems undisturbed by his rudeness, picking her nails with her new knife as she lounges. Why can’t she be this comfortable with us?”

Kidnapper wonders why kidnapee doesn’t treat him like a friend :/

"No deals, [Roxy], but know that tonight, I’m close to the edge. Plunge into that darkness, and you might not come back,” I warn.
She tilts her head…”Maybe I don’t want to.”

OMG i for real thought she was being suicidal here.

Listen, I think the last quote really speaks for the cheesiness and quality of writing, but I will just end on this.

“What if, without her, there is no us?
What if I can’t let her go?
What if I’m not strong enough?
What if I’m too much of a viper to release our prey?”

I am VIPER 🐍 ME NEED LADY 👿 or else...viper, no exist? 😪

This is existential for no FUCKING REASON

BYe.

P.s. Where are the CONDOMS? Where is the PROTECTION? When is the last time y’all have gotten TESTED?

P.P.S. where is the PLOT

P.P.P.S. Where is the pegging?

Oh Lord.

I'm trying to discover more smut and romance in 2021 but I felt like this was 'not' the book I should have picked up to help me test those waters. I want to make it clear before I begin though that I do not want to kink-shame, especially since the sex scenes in this book are kinks I am not personally into. I do, however, find those scenes extremely unrealistic.

My reading vlog for this book has a lot of my more in-depth thoughts and live reactions to reading this book: https://youtu.be/NNF1dwa6y8E

Roxy is kidnapped after being sold by her father to the Vipers, four men who pretty much 'run the town'. They have a rivalry with the Triad that really doesn't inject that much excitement into the story. There's some attempt at a plot in this, but the flawed writing prevented me from remotely enjoying it.

I could not get on board with the romance from the very beginning due to Roxy being taken against her will and constantly abused and degraded. Yes, she does fall head over heels in love with them, and very early on (by around page 60) she even fantasises about them, but Roxy is painted on the blurb, and at the beginning of this book, as a woman who isn't pushed around by anyone. She's independent and fierce and WILL fight back against the Vipers to get her life back. Except... that doesn't happen! She allows them to sexually degrade her THROUGHOUT the book where her consent is taken away constantly. Her internal monologues enjoys it, apparently, but I don't understand her character at all. One minute, she wants to escape and get her life back, and the next, she is madly in love with her kidnappers?

The Vipers are all disgusting. There is some attempt at humanising them with backstories, but quite honestly, their penchant for murder and abuse, as well as the kidnapping and sexual assault of women, makes it *really* hard for me to care one little bit about them. They are irredeemable, and even at the very end, they remove Roxy's consent AGAIN and the writer tries to make it look like Roxy is a warrior? No, not in the slightest. This kind of storyline could have been handled with nuance and the topic of Stockholm syndrome could have been interesting to explore, but this is 'not' the book to take it seriously. The writer wants us to think one thing, but then think something entirely different in the next sentence - it's soooo confusing!

The sex scenes became so repetitive and boring. The same words were used over and over (and word choices were extremely cringe and downright horrific at times), that this book is overshadowed by the tediousness this book becomes by page 300 out of 600. Again, I do not want to kink-shame anyone, but I can't get my head around the logistics of some of these sex scenes - there's just no way some of them are possible without death / serious harm. Not only that, but the fact the Vipers are supposed to be big strong men, yet they last about 10 seconds in the bedroom. They're horny teenagers that can't stop thinking about abusing Roxy, or touching themselves.

I went into this hearing about the hype and my intrigue of it was very high, so it kept me reading, but I would not recommend this to anyone. I know my reading vlog has funny reactions to it, but if you aren't typically a reader of this kind of book, then steer well clear, or at least know the trigger warnings before going into it (sexual abuse, assault, violence).

attempt #2: yeahhhhh i lost interest. thoughts below still stand i think.

----------------

i've had this on my currently reading since december and i think i just need to face the fact that i have no interest in reading this book. i'm trying to be a little more intentional with the stuff i read and actually evaluating if the content is something i'm interested in or if i'm just picking up a pick because of the hype.

and in this case, definitely hype. i haven't had much luck with dark romances lately, and i have yet to read a reverse harem that i'm super interested in. i'd like to find a RH that i do like... i just doubt it will be this one. i know a few of y'all were waiting on my review of this, but i'd rather read something i think i'm gonna like haha.

This woman really spent 617 pages saying "you assholes" "I hate you" "my pu*#@ clenches" like that was literally her entire dialogue I've never hated a female character more in my life. Cringe AF and I regret every minute of it I wish I could go back three days to when I didn't know this book existed. Never thought I'd give a book one star but here we are, i'm utterly horrified

Well well well… was this a rollercoaster.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This book took me longer than usual because I had to stop every other page to take a deep breath. I felt like I was hallucinating couple of times, not believing wtf I just read.

“I will lick you while my brothers watch” or some shit 🤣🤣🤣 my man Casteel would never💀
Also everything happens in a span of a week?? This bitch really got confessions and proposals out of nowhere in the same time frame as God allegedly created heaven and earth. That pussy must be powerful af😩 #goals

My friend calls this book a fever dream. I disagree. I think it’s just fever.

The viper guys lmao they made my kitty clench in disgust more than anything 🤣 some scenes just threw me. If you like wattpad written by 12 yo one direction fans, you’ll be just fine. The writing style is -1 star. I did not understand the whole inner darkness of Garrett and Diesel, just psycho dudes thrown at your face for no reason, the girl deserved them, she’s the most annoying one.
The Salvatore brothers tho.. now those made me feel shit sometimes. Yes, don’t judge me ok. You’re here either to read or bcs you’ve already read it so stfu🙄🤚🏻

Only giving it 2 stars because I’m one horny mf and Kenzo keeps coming to me in my dreams. No complaints💅🏻

This book cleansed and then cursed me. Because guess what? Imma start another one by this author right now.

I see now why this book is so popular. It’s my first book by KA Knight, but I’m impressed. She can write death and gore just as well as she can beautiful soul searing prose. Don’t even get me started on the hilarity, I don’t recall laughing out loud this much for a book. Wonderful really!

This is the first RH where all the dudes each have their very own personality. I know exactly whose chapter I’m reading because of fantastic character development. This one just keeps ticking all the boxes.

Can’t say I saw Roxxane coming but I like her a lot. Her and her bat.

Diesel may be in your face crazy but Kenzo is that low down, don’t know till it’s too late insane.

Girl, get it! Fuck Ryder! But the fact that she ran to Garrett, too funny.

Does anyone else find it amusing that she keeps talking to her girly bits?

Honestly the only interesting thing about Ryder is that she keeps fucking up his shit.

Tit for tat or should I say dick? Never gamble with a professional. 🤣 If that’s how it is with Kenzo I can’t even imagine what’ll happen with Diesel.

In all honesty I didn’t know if I was gonna like Diesel. But then the rhapsodizing about his past and how he wouldn’t change a thing because it brought him to his little bird ... well shit. How do you not fall in love with that?

Then he eats a piece of garlic bread and suddenly I don’t hate him anymore? The fuck?!

She doesn’t know her goddam birthday? Please tell me her sorry excuse for a father gets what’s coming to him. Hopefully at her hands.

I liked Kenzo from the get go, he’s probably my favorite. But after the cemetery? He has my heart.

The emotional moments are just so good. She has them with every guy and each one is beautiful in its own way. Now I can’t imagine why I ever hated Ryder, how I thought D was a one dimensional maniac, Garrett was a grump.

If you know me, you know I’m not a fan of captivity books. So even I’m asking myself, why do you like this? Good question and the answer is ... I have no idea. But I do know that situation was handled very well, in a way that made it work. She’s a bird after all.

You know what I love best about Ryder? From the outside looking in he appears useless because they’ve made him like the ‘face’ of the group. But in reality he can do everybody’s job better than they can. Jeez, if he’s not careful he’ll go from being my most hated to most loved.

The problem with this book is it’s too long and not enough plot. Also, I know it’s RH and expected, but too much sex. I enjoyed it more when they showed her their world than their cocks. Don’t get me wrong, I love that shit but I’d love it more if I had to work for it.

I can’t believe I’m saying this and I’m no doubt in the minority but Diesel isn’t one of my favorites. Yes, I love his character, I love how multifaceted he is, how funny and crazy and sweet. But as a boyfriend? Too fucking clingy! Sorry, not sorry. I’d pick one of the brothers or both.

I said it once but it bares saying again, this book is too goddam long. Those last two hundred pages dragged like a motherfucker. I would’ve gladly given this five stars if it wasn’t for that.

SPOILERS!!!!!!

what the fuck did i just read???????????????
i need to explain my thoughts bc i have sooo many.
first of all, i have to admit this book wasn’t that bad… i mean, this story had potential, but it’s such a shame it crossed too many lines at the same time. i skipped lots of parts bc i like smut but in this book? there was smut every chapter, at some point i was like this bitch never rests????? good lord… i get ppl, especially women, who likes sex but roxy was defo something else… also, bad smut we’re talking about gun in her coochie, knife in her ass, lots of blood, a fucking fivesome????????????
🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

you’re surely wondering why i didn’t dnf it. well, i wanted to know with whom roxy would end up. IMAGINE MY SURPRISE WHEN SHE ENDS UP WITH ALL OF THEM💀 my bets were on ryder
about the characters… well, roxy was a baddie but she should wash her mouth bc wtf? she talks like a truck driver!!! miss girl….
ryder was the best ofc and my fav ofc. i really hoped he was endgame…
i also liked kenzo bc he was sweet and garrett bc he was thoughtful. ngl diesel was funny but scary as hell like genuinely scary, i wouldn’t let him touch me even for a million $…
i wouldn’t recommend this book tbh… 650 pages of smut and violence, the plot was interesting but is overshadowed by everything else and after 300 pages you just wanna get over it.

mar 4: started this out of the blue and tbh idk what i got myself into but i’m so curious about ryder🤪🤪🤪

MY REVIEW AND OTHERS: can also be found on my blog:
➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

DEN OF VIPERS: Is a full length dark, reverse harem romance book by new to me author K.A. Knight. Various POV's.

One word ➤ PHENOMENAL! This was AMAZING As you know I like my grittier, edgier, darker non conventional books and this one right here ticked all my boxes. Like a tidal wave, I was pulled under by this authors spell as this book literally got its hooks into me from just that first page.

Get ready to meet your next addiction!! The Four Vipers and the one girl who wrapped them around her little finger. This on my ipad was over 1,000 pages long, so for me it took me over a day to read and devour.

If you like your heroines tough and sassy then you have to meet Roxy our bat welding girl who doesn’t go down without a fight. She owns and lives above her dive bar, which was gifted to her by the only man she ever cared about, no one messes with her, and anyone who is dumb enough meets her bat which is hidden behind her bar!! When Roxxane's estranged father who she ran away from in her late teens gets in over his head in a gambling debt with the Vipers the cities Mafia, he settles it by handing his daughter over to them.

Normally these guys don't deal with flesh but they have to show the city that they aren't going soft. This puts out a warning to anyone else who thinks about crossing them. When you fuck with Vipers, you get fangs.

Thinking it's one quick extraction they send in four of their top trustworthy enforcers to go to her dive bar and claim whats theirs. But Roxie doesn't give in without a fight, out comes that bat and she wipes the floor clean.

Enter the Vipers. These guys are the baddest motherf#ckers of the city, the untouchables, Everyone in the city respects them and everyone fears them, they are men you don't mess with.

The leader is suit wearing Ryder, he's the face and brains of their empire, he's calculating, and everything he does, he does it for his family, he's as dark and as cold as they come, a lethal business owner.

Kenzo is a charming psychopath he's also Ryder's brother, he runs the illegal casino’s they own, the groups bookie, he's the numbers guy, he's also a master at playing games.

Diesel (The Grim Reaper) he's bat sh#t crazy he's the assassin who comes up with unique ways to torture and kill their victims for shits and giggles. He's unpredictable, a predator, your worst nightmare. He'll send you to hell with a smile on his face. He burns in the flames of darkness. he's the very reason why the city is scared of the Vipers.

Garrett is our scarred big man fighter. The enforcer. He's the one that scares people until they are ready to talk to Ryder. He doesn't like to be touched and hates woman. He hates Roxx on sight but tough bickies because when the guys took her, she ended up in their apartment that they all share!!

🔥Holy hotness 🔥They could probably talk the panties off a nun. These guys were beyond hot!!

This was deliciously dark! My nerves were hanging on by a thread, like an adrenaline junky needing that next fix, my foot was tapping, my heart was out of beat, my hands were clammy, loving that electrical surge making me read faster. This book kept me on my toes throughout, the heat, the darkness, the grittiness quickly became my guilty pleasure.

DNF at page 413

when tiktok recommends a book on the basis that it has the best smut around town, of course i'm gonna snoop in the kindle unlimited store and download it. but holy shit, all 58,000 of us who have rated this book on goodreads need therapy.

i originally started and continued this because i thought eh, how bad can it be. and at one point, i was continuing reading it purely on the basis that never in my life have i read ANYTHING like it. it's vulgar and shocking and these characters are psychotic, and every chapter appalled me in a new way. but for something heralded as having the best smut around, it was just miserable. the characters only got off on abusing one another, and after a scene where one guy came after fucking her with a gun that she then pretended to shoot him through the skull with, i decided to pack it up and save this for the girlies who..... actually, no idea. i have no clue who this target audience is.

this was bad. like, BAD. anyone who enjoyed this unironically, i am going to facebook message your mother and kink shame because i just can't believe that anyone enjoys this kind of shit unironically.

SOOOO it was not as traumatizing as I thought! I did end up enjoying the book, but I still don't know what direction the plot was going, I can ASSURE you, that you don't need to read this for the plot cuz that's not the case here lmao, but if you want a strong plot don't read this you'll be disappointed!

🌟2.75 stars🌟

the book is basically spice and more spice👀, please MAKE SURE to check the TW before reading cuz it could be triggering!

-audiobook

The audiobook was 5/10 , because there should have been narrators for each character since there are 4 MMCs and you get all confused when one person is narrating all of them, and they are all talking at the same time in many scenes! Apart from that, the narration was good!

⚠️I'll be adding TW down here(possible spoilers) :⚠️

➤Blood & gore depiction including blood play
➤Death (on-page)
➤Domestic abuse
➤Kidnapping
➤Gun play
➤Self-harm
➤Sexual abuse
➤Torture
➤Knife play
➤Group sex
.
And many more
.
.

pre-read

I'm either gonna like this or get traumatized, apparently!
