i am never recovering from this book. it truly puts everything into perspective.

this book is traumatic because it’s real. laila and mariam are more than just stories, words on paper. the fact that people struggle just so is tragic. my heart goes out to all of them—they deserve so much better.

top five easily. the noor of my eyes and the sultan of my heart :(

pick up this book… it’s worth all the tears and more

“Each snowflake was a sigh heaved by an aggrieved woman somewhere in the world. That all the sighs drifted up the sky, gathered into clouds, then broke into tiny pieces that fell silently on the people below. As a reminder of how women like us suffer, she’d said. How quietly we endure all that falls upon us.”
