WAIT WAIT WAIT please don’t read this yet I have a lot more to add and I did a very bad job of expressing my feelings I just don’t want to delete this yet
Legendborn review that I very much agree with: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
This book was kind of weird 😂 also VERY confusing. Literally everything in this book confused me. Bree was a decent character I guess, but idk I think Sel was definitely my favorite, although inconsistent. He went from absolutely despising her to—I don’t even know, but it was very random and didn’t make much sense. This whole book was so strange and the plot line also didn’t make a ton of sense. I would give it three starts except for the part where I couldn’t put it down. When I’m thinking of this book, I’m just even more confused. For some reason, it just all didn’t really seem to fit. Maybe that’s just me, but there were so many parts and I don’t think they all went together. A lot of the parts just served to make the book even more confusing. Nick was not my favorite; very bland and surface level and “golden boy.” I’m definitely more Team Broody Angst Boy (as evidenced for my preference for Selwyn and Alec over Jace). Nick I feel like was there as a love interest and decoy, and I hope she doesn’t end up with him. Did the author try to create a love triangle?? If so, it was very small, but I could definitely see it happening and probably enjoy it in the next book. It would add some more drama and excitement. I’m not entirely sure what the next book will be about bc I’m not entirely sure what this book was about. Maybe someone else can read it and tell me what they think. The main conflict was very...not main. Anyway, I did like this book a decent amount and I will be reading the next one whenever it comes out. Sorry if my rant didn’t make a ton of sense :) I was trying not to spoil everything.
