I admire the gesture. I suppose a very young isolated person would find the genuine wisdom illuminating. I did not. This is an allegorical tale regarding financial prudence. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. It allegories are best when trying to convey a abstract concept. Here the concepts are concrete such as saving 10%. Instead of achieving his aims for this story it feels contrived and anachronistic, if not a bit patronizing. In fact it was anachronistic when written. Having said that I know quite a few people with whom this book resonated. That's truly wonderful! But it was a snooze fest.
