“My intentions are to deserve him.”

Marriage of Inconvenience was one of my most anticipated books of the year. I love Penny Reid’s writing, and I am obsessed with her Knitting in the City series. After 7 books, it feels like these characters are my own friends and family. And knowing this book was Dan’s just got me that much more excited!!!

Katis in a bind. Her terrible, no good, cousin is trying to take over her family’s company, and to do that, he has to take legal control over Kat’s person. To avoid that, her best option is to get married as soon as possible. Who could Kat ask though? Dan the Security Man of course. Dan is all to willing to help Kat with her problem.

I love Dan. Seriously. This man makes me laugh like no other, he has the biggest heart, and I just completely adore him. He has a foul mouth, but it made the book that much more hilarious! Just search how many times the f-bomb was dropped and you’ll get a good chuckle.
"I said, you fuckfaced shitstain," his words were low, slow, measured, "get the fuck away from her, or I will fucking fuckily fuck you the fuck up.”
Kat is one of those heroines that even though I couldn’t completely related to, I still liked so much. She is imperfect, and though she’s a little hard on herself at times, she always owns up to her mistakes. I loved how Dan showed her it was okay not to be perfect, none of us are. I think even though these two seem like an unlikely pair, they compliment each other wonderfully.
“Parts of you are ugly and messy. I still want you. I want the ugly and the beautiful and everything in between. You don’t pick and choose the parts of a person you want. Shit, I’m the ugliest fucker I know, and I want to give it all to you.”

It was great to see the rest of the Knitting crew and follow along to where their stories are going. I very much hope this isn’t the last that we see of this crew, but if it is, it ended on a high note. Another thing I thought was fantastic about this story was Dan’s mom. I loved her so much!

Penny Reid writes smart. She writes interesting stories full of facts, and endearing characters you can't help but to love. I never tire of her writing and will read any book she puts out! This series is some of her best work, and if you haven’t read them, I can’t recommend doing so enough!
“I think I’m addicted to you.”
