A Highlander book+mythical creature+ strong heroine-> me happy!
"To tame a Highland Warrior" tells the story of Grimm and Jillian.
When 13 year old Gavrael summons the Berserker at the pinnacle of sorrow and anger, the unknown creature possesses him. Ashamed of what he's become, he leaves the past life.. including people he's met and assumes the identity of Grimm.
Jillian has always loved Grimm- when he walked into her life as kid-and also when he walked out breaking her heart as an adult.
Years later at 21, she's unwed and her father asks three strong suitors to come for Jillian- Quinn, Ramsey and Grimm.
Grimm has always been it for Jillian, her first love, her first kiss. Finding him back brings back a gush of memories she had never forgotten.
He pushes her away a LOT in fear of her response to his identity, but she relentlessly pursues him and eventually he gives in.
Mixed in are some sad misunderstandings, some revenge and some evil bastards.
It started out AMAZING but around the middle I was a little annoyed at the way the courtship seemed one sided. I understand his reasons for keeping her away.. but still..
The love making scenes were HOT! There's a lot of pent up lust between the h and H and the plot is basically "I've loved you forever" kind.
Extra stars for the sweet epilogue!
Not safe by definition (view spoiler)[ they've know each other when she was a kid and he was a teen/ adult. She's seen him once with a maid. They separate for many years and pretty sure he moved on. Later she also kisses other men (hide spoiler)]
